DLA - waiting and wondering

Hi we have applied for DLA and just heard that there is a 25 week wait. For those of you who have applied fairly recently is this a true reflection? Also I have no idea if we will be successful, my child has an anxiety and ASD diagnosis, has just received their EHCP. I didn't put down a reference as we have just taken her out of school and about to start new school so figured the new school won't really know her (didn't realise it would be a 6 month wait as that may have changed my decision). I'm so clueless but could really do with the money to support towards her therapist.

Some new claims are getting a decision in 8 weeks, it’s the shortest wait time I’ve ever seen for new claims, they do say 25 weeks as a generic thing. There is a Dla wait time thread it would be worth joining there it’s helpful to see where people are at with wait times and it’s very supportive.

Thank you @Curlycookie5
Does anyone have any idea of having an EHCP helps in getting DLA?
