Playground mafia were in top form today. Apparently its 'disgusting' that all these people are on benifits and 'if they have a child with something wrong with them, they then claim more' All said loud enough for the whole playground to hear. ADHD doesn't exist according to snotty cow. I was fuming, shouted that they could have the money... but they didn't hear me (or ignored me)

I would give it all back to make DS1 and DD1 'normal'

What she doesn't realise is that most parents with a child with a disablity are in debt, that marriages break up due to the stress, that we have to spend so much more on day to day life...

we are in debt, always overdrawn our marriage is on a short string. I spend so much on petrol each week. My friend said we should all drop our kids off to perfect parent, unmedicated and see how she copes. lol

Its bad enough when strangers go on like this, my sister says things like that to my face . She thinks I'm so lucky to get money for DS2, doesn't think its fair that I got driving lessons for free (from family fund) and sometimes gets annoyed that ds2s 1:1 hand delivers him to me when other parents have to wait in the rain (like me).

Seriously, I'd swap her any day!

trace2 · 09/02/2010 20:00

5inthebed my family is the same, !!!

CardyMow · 09/02/2010 21:34

Oh FGS! where do these people get off? I get it in a slightly more passive way - well it's not like you have to struggle for money, getting DLA, is it, you're like, tons better off than most of us. YEAH RIGHT, like DLA for one person (me) covers 3 people's disabilities? (Yes I am about to apply for the dc's, just want to wait till I've done my renewal in June, can't cope with taking the DC's one to tribunal as well as trying to reapply for my own with no support). And any of them have to fork out £48 a week to get their kids to school because they CAN'T FUCKING WALK THAT FAR???

And if they tell me once more 'that I should just get strict with him and make him walk it' when walking that distance would 1) make him have to suffer real physical pain. 2) run the risk of his joints dislocating and 3) run the risk of him having a severe asthma attack....I won't be responsible for my actions!

Had it off my dad years ago he thought it was 'wrong that parents were paid to look after their own children' I told him years ago most of these kids would of been in institutions and costing thousands every week he still didn't agree thought my boy just needed a good hiding.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 10/02/2010 07:50

DD has just started nursery and I was wondering why I was getting the dirty looks and cold shoulder, i didn't until the parents realised she is 'different', hard to believe really.

borderslass · 10/02/2010 07:54

Fanjo my boy had no problems with comments or looks until he started school the 'friends' he had before school soon disappeared as soon as he started the special needs unit now I'm not stupid but 5 year olds don't have these prejudices.

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 10/02/2010 07:59

yes, the kids love DD and like to help her, the parents were friendly to me until they saw she can't walk or talk that well and wears a bib and nappy, they probably think I am making her that way as I want to "keep her as a baby"..have been accused of that before...nothing to do with her brain condition we are awaiting diagnosis for then.

Catbum face is exactly what i get from one of the mums at nursery, since she saw me changing DD's nappy while her just turned 2 year old went to the toilet...her just turned 2 year old who can speak and understand much better than DD, I think its ME who should be making catsbum faces tbh.
