my ds is 4 but big for his age, only nappies we can buy to fit him are huggies pajama pants and they fit great. he was 4 in nov and finally were close to actually getting what were entitled to however first they gave us size 6 pampers (he grew out of these a year ago!!), now we have xs attends but they seem too big and uncomfortable for him, is there anything anyone else has i can ask for that might be better??? sorry i know this is similar to a previous thread but thought id ask anyway!! if it helps his clothes are mostly aged 5-6 for length (not far off a 6-7!) etc but if i have to stick with these attends which are horrible he will have to go up to 6-7's or even 7-8's as can barely get the 5-6's over them and they look well tight!! though then will have a length issue i think so not sure but anyway ideally i want some that re not as big as attends xs but not as small as pampers size 6 as they are far too small!! any ideas?? thanks in advance xx

DS1 gets size 6+ libero which are much bigger than size 6 pampers, which DS2 gets.

Nat1H · 03/02/2010 20:01

My DS gets libero too. Size 6, but will be moving up to 6+ soon. He is in age 5-6 clothes too.

We have these nappies in size small, but they come in lots of sizes and lots of absorbency levels. They are on prescription. My dd2 is 7.

Your inco nurse or HV should do an assessment and provide you with samples to try.

We get TENA pants plus and the size is extra small. My dd is 8 but very slim and tall for her age.

We've had exactly the same problem, standard nappies too small yet incontinence products too big.
In the end we've been supplied with the Huggies pyjama pants and just use the bulky Attends XS for night.
Tesco used to do a very large Size 6 nappy but sadly the design changed last year and they're now smaller.
Libero size 7 nappies or their pull ups called Night Comfort may be worth a try?

hope that works this time!

The libero 6+ used to be their size 7 - they've just changed. The new ones are a little less bulky and atr stretchier at the sides than the old ones.

Sidge · 04/02/2010 11:20

We have Pampers size 6 but DD2 is just growing out of them so we are going to be getting Tena Slip in XS. Only 3 a day though so we'll need to buy more and they're not cheap

meltedmarsbars · 04/02/2010 13:09

Riven, its a SHV who does the assessments here, and gives out nappy szes to try, the inco nurse just does the ordering. She does paed and adult inco services I think.

DD got Pampers size 6 which fit perfectly she is small. But went to pick them up on monday to be told the Pampers size 4 will be suitable as they are the right size. DD is 21kgs so how they think up to 18kgs will fit, I do not know
Now waiting for a call back, luckily DS2 at 20 months can squeeze into size 4's, so he can wear those and I will buy DD size 6's until this is rectified. I am very and (Thought we had a good service)

meerkatsandkookaburras · 06/02/2010 20:30

i am getting rather frustrated by the system, all i can buy that fit ds is huggies pajama pants which are really pricey!! he was 4 in november and we got all forms filled out thn with height, weight etc for health visitor to pass on to incontinence nurse but still nothing suitable 3 months later!! and the first of th unsuitable ones only came last week!!! i am sure they are doing it to me deliberately!!
