I ordered this for DS (4.7, ASD) I thought he would love it :

www.prezzybox.com/products/index.aspx?pid=4708

unfortunately they are out of stock not back until January. So now Im stuck what to get.
He is at an awkward age where he seems to have grown out of most of his young toys but does not have any pretend play or comprehension for older toys. He loves active things and has a trampoline, tent, tunnels etc. which he enjoys. He doesn't like puzzles, musical stuff, has no TV favourites, likes duplo but just builds towers, loves his alphebet desk, and etch a sketch . Any ideas?

Dd1 and 2 both love Space hoppers.

They are also mad about lego (just the mixed up lego, not the sets with instructions).

Oh what a shame. I would have bought it for DS2 if it had been in stock. Not very helpful I know- but I admire your choice of present!! .

silverfrog · 01/12/2009 18:10

they have them here, in stock, I think.

They do look good.

the dds have a set of bits which clip together in similar fashion, but are tubes and bits of cloth, not solid shapes like those.

I saw an inflatable set at a SN exhibition recently, but it was £££££ - will see if i can find it again, hang on.

here you go, but as I said, very £££

Thanks silverfrog I will phone tomorrow and check if they actually are in- stock the website I ordered said they were but they wernt (hmph) Everywhere seems to be out even the suppliers. (hoping no-one orders the last one before I get there)

If not cranium super fort looks like a good alternative, thanks.

He has a space hopper that he sits and rolls on (hmm)

the cranium set is what the dds have. they love it, but it can be a bit ricketty (prob just my inferior building skills, tbh )

there's here as well, which claim to have the squash blocks in stock.

hope you find some.

anonandlikeit · 01/12/2009 22:24

Our sn pre school group have the squash blocks, ds2 found them very frustrating as they do fall over easily if not balanced properly. Good for teaching concentration & patience but not so good for kids with low tolerance levels.

staryeyed · 02/12/2009 14:51

Nope no luck with squashblox discontinued or out os stock everywhere.

Thanks for the tip of anon maybe the cranium set would be better anyway.
