....That the parent of an SN child could insinuate that other SN children have the problems that they have because their parents are in some way to blame.

I thought that the 'refrigerator mother' theory had largely died a death and thank god for it.

I might well be making things worse by posting this, I honestly hope that I am not.

But how very, very sad that people have ended up being abused on a part of the site that has always been so supportive. I hope that things get back to normal asap.

I've been back and looked through and I think maybe it was her son or not herself in some way, because she does mention in particular the swearing difficulty

It's not usually this heated on the SN board. I think that's why we were all so shocked at the other thread.

I think the idea of it being the child and not the parent fits much better. The poster herself has been around for a while, I'm sure, and I would have noticed that kind of attitude before now. People don't change that quickly, surely, especially when there was no provocation.

Could well be the son. Another example of HFA causing different problems). If ds1 posted all you's get is chbfodehgfirgmr;kgjiau and you'd all think I'd fallen asleep on the keyboard

I am shocked at the way that thread turned. I had been reading it with interest until it got nasty. I taped the programme but havent watched it yet as I am afraid of what I might see (ds is being assessed by the Ed Psych in 2 wks time ).

The thread has made me seriously think if I want to post on here anymore. The whole thing was very upsetting
I have realised that to get so upset over something that isn't real life is not good and has given me the wake up call I so badly needed!

BH, I was worried about you feeling crap about this As CT says, if you want a break or to cut down then do but not because of you-know-who (not Lord Voldemort!). You will come to the zoo though wont't you?

I missed all this but as far as I am aware the SN board has always been supportrive and my daughter has alot of problems and I never feel jealous of the more higher functioning children on here. Hope i havent 'missed' what this is about just wanted to say to BH, if it is too much have a break, like i do, then you MISS EVERYTHING and get noseyitus
