My dd .

She is just 3 and has Spastic diplegia - has been very efficient with her Kaye walker since last summer but in the last few weeks has been 'bridging the gap' between settee and table with a couple of independent steps.

Anyway, yesterday she walked several metres to me from the armchair to sofa and today she walked right across the kitchen, at least 3 metres totally unaided!! I never thought we'd see the day.

I know it doesn't mean she won't need her walker anymore, in fact we are seeing wheelchair services next week as she does have days where she can barely put one foot in front of the other but it is still an incredible breakthrough!

Well done my lovely darling .

Thats fantastic HBOB, I can tell your'e extremely pleased.
PME, don't worry, my son didn't stand or start to walk until he was nearly 5 years old and he literally done both together (stood and cruised the furniture). HTH.

SirSupportman · 06/05/2009 22:20

Brilliant

Hangingbellyofbabylon · 06/05/2009 22:39

well done ilovesprouts too . Have just uploaded a whole load of photos on the puter so now off to put some on facebook. Dd1 got really jealous with the fuss we made over dd2 so I got the puter on and showed her all of the joyous photos we took of her first steps (on her 1st birthday weirdly). I guess a 4 year old doesn't understand the magnitude of being a mummy and waiting all those years for today .
