My dd .

She is just 3 and has Spastic diplegia - has been very efficient with her Kaye walker since last summer but in the last few weeks has been 'bridging the gap' between settee and table with a couple of independent steps.

Anyway, yesterday she walked several metres to me from the armchair to sofa and today she walked right across the kitchen, at least 3 metres totally unaided!! I never thought we'd see the day.

I know it doesn't mean she won't need her walker anymore, in fact we are seeing wheelchair services next week as she does have days where she can barely put one foot in front of the other but it is still an incredible breakthrough!

Well done my lovely darling .

I know I should have expected it but I was still a bit sad today when dd was so achey and tired and could barely even walk with her walking frame . With SN children progress just isn't linear is it? It's hard to accept when other children learn a new skill and keep it from then on. Ho hum, tomorrow's another day and maybe she will have got her energy back
