Oh no so sorry to hear. Have you asked for a statement of reasons?

Yeah. Said I'll do an MR. Idiots.

Busymumofthreexo · 03/09/2024 13:09

NoWordForFluffy · 03/09/2024 12:56

We were declined. MR incoming.

Basically, an 11 year old isn't expected do have road sense and the fact she masks at school mean she's clearly fine! 😩

Oh sorry to hear that! Did you have much evidence? I have no hope now after reading this, I'm in the exact same position DD 11 years old awaiting ASD assessment my area is currently a 3 year wait. She masks at school although they've seen bits it's nothing compared to how she is at home. I didn't have much evidence only referral letters and ALN papers.

No, but our son was the same when we applied and got it.

I don't think most 11 years just walk out in front of cars. 🙄

Autism diagnosis isn't relevant, only needs. Ah well. Well just MR and see what happens.

Oh love you, sometimes I just don't think people understand the constant daily needs and how much strain it has on you mentally also, especially when compared to a child the same age. As you stated 11 years don't just walk out infront of oncoming traffic, my DD needs constant supervision and a heck of a lot of prompting, also struggles to sleep and have done for as long as i can remember. Doctor agreed that her needs and behaviour are that of a 4 year old, definitely not on par with her peers. I hope I've explained this enough, worried now after reading your post. The lengthly process doesn't help either, you've waited this long and now have to go through an MR which can take a further 20weeks, I hope you eventually get the outcome you so deserve 🙏 like it isn't already hard enough having to fight for our children to be heard to get them the help and support they need. Good luck with your MR 🤞

I sent application 28/05. Had a phone call 11/06 saying it was with a decision maker. Told to wait until 23/10 I'm still waiting not sure if I should phone again. Didn't send much evidence as still awaiting assessment. But sent evidence from school and assessments they did but my son is not currently in school as we recently moved but he should just be starting year 1 he has been excluded for 1 day at a previous school and has been internally excluded multiple times from the school he was just at.

My scan date is 2/05 I’m currently sat waiting to speak to somebody to check on progress, I’ve been waiting for about half an hour?! Is that standard or not?

MiamiMimi · 03/09/2024 17:35

And it’s now saying that the department of work and pensions is not available this call will now end! What a waste of time.

School have said it may be better for our family support worker to do the note for the DLA form. She’s only met her about 5-6 times. Can’t help but think they feel I shouldn’t be applying for it.

I called again yesterday for my son's MR. Still no update at 16weeks. Spoke to a lovely man who told me again its up to 25 weeks due to an increase of MR and they are roughly working on the 28th April.

HangryLimeBeaker · 04/09/2024 11:17

Anyone have a timeline on how long UC took to add disabled child element on & back pay? xx

I'm 17 weeks Friday and it's just dragging. This has been such a long process hasn't it! Been ongoing since January! I want to call but then I think what's the point I'm only going to be told the same x
