I would say Social services probably.

there are two trikes on ebay at the moment, do search under special needs, one is going for 30 quid, the other is more expensive

blossomhill · 07/11/2004 19:49

Here is the one on ebay for £30

onlyjoking9329 · 07/11/2004 19:52

I just had a look on the special needs bit on e-bay. I didn't realise they had one. They loads of useful stuff for autism on there!

mieow · 07/11/2004 22:18

TBH that wouldn't support her. and she would have to have a pedal system in place, as she can't pedal because of the CP. Thanks for looking though!

Blimey, what a price! I am off to EBay SN, had no idea they had a special section...

Fran1 · 07/11/2004 22:29

Would it come under the criteria for family fund trust grant?

mieow · 07/11/2004 22:34

I don't know, they did mention the FF yesterday but I can't apply till may, I think!! (though I did apply in January last year, but it took months to sort out)

mieow · 07/11/2004 22:35

In case that cunfuses anyone, I applied inJan but it took them till May to sort it out, so can I reapply in Jan or May??

OP posts:
Davros · 07/11/2004 22:36

Reapply in Jan and let THEM tell you if you have to wait. Can you wait for it until Jan or even May though?

mieow · 07/11/2004 22:37

Try Whizz Kidz Misdee. Thay should be able to help, I think.

ScummyMummy · 07/11/2004 23:05

Sorry sorry sorry, I meant mieow

mieow · 07/11/2004 23:08

i did use whizzkids to fund DS' trike three years ago, but they will only provide Theraplay trike, which we found to be very heavy and hard to steer with the parent bar, where the Tomcat has a special system that is light and easy to steer

Hmmm. Family fund? Family Welfare Asociation? Caudwell Trust?

mieow · 07/11/2004 23:10

tis ok SM, you are not the first to say Misde instead of Mieow, think one of us will have to change our name to something not starting with M

OP posts:
mieow · 07/11/2004 23:14

ain't the family welfare trust the same as the FF??

Davros · 07/11/2004 23:16

Could you ask Fledglings if they know of sources or have any ideas? They are wonderful and will help you out with info even if they aren't going to supply something themselves. They get good prices for everything. I think they are www.fledglings.org.uk but not sure.

ScummyMummy · 07/11/2004 23:17

No. The FWA are not disability specific but do help families with disabled children. You'd need a social worker, health visitor or some such to apply on your behalf. Also the Frank Buttle Trust are worth asking as they are administering the BBC Children in Need budget at the moment.

ScummyMummy · 07/11/2004 23:19

That's a great idea Davros. The fledglings website is here , mieow.

mieow · 07/11/2004 23:19

I was thinking about emailing Captain Cash at the news of the world
