Who s/he? If s/he might help I'd go for it!

mieow · 07/11/2004 23:28

It a small colom in the NOTW newspaper, he has some silly requests wihich he refuses to help, but have noticed that if the request is for a disability they pay out! Usually a small amount toward it

Best of luck with getting support from somewhere, mieow. It does look like a cracking trike, I must say. If I think of anywhere else I'll let you know.
Off to bed now. Night.

HAve you asked your pt/ot if they provide them?

The ponywalker for ds2 came through our pt, via a special charity set up for children with sn. Your area may have the same sort of thing.

Hulababy · 08/11/2004 09:32

Ia there any fund raiser type activity you could do to try and raise some of the cash locally?

mieow · 08/11/2004 09:32

The NHS don't provide anything other than Majors and wheelchairs here.

mieow · 08/11/2004 09:34

we did wonder about Fundraising the cash ourselves, but don't know where to start. What could we do?

Grrr

Have you tried the family fund? Or have you used up your application this year?

misdee · 08/11/2004 10:14

ask debbies mum. she is involved in fundraising for the hospital. she might know how to go about it.

bungee jumping, sky dive, swimathon, fun day. might be best to speak to her new school.

mieow · 08/11/2004 16:18

Decided that DS really needs a new trike too, and just asked his school whether they could do some fundraising for it, and the head said he had just agreed to fundraise for the local diability centre, and he will say to them that he want to give half of the oney to Ds for a trike!!! thats about £500 sorted just another £1500 to go!

Hi mieow - just got reminded of this yesterday when our physio was here. She got a call at the time from another physio to say that a trike had become available for one of her patients. Where we live it seems that the PTs support applications to charities (the NHS don't supply them here either), but then encourage parents to relinquish the trikes when their kids have outgrown them. Don't know if you've tried asking your PT, just thought of you when I was chatting to our PT. Good luck with all your fundraising , I like the Capn. Cash idea
