So you may or may not know I had my DLA reviewed now that Lottie is approaching her 3rd birthday.

Since she was 3 months old we've been on the low rate.

Letter on mat when I got in tonight:

You are now entitled to DLA from - date of L's 3rd b.day

Help with getting around
You are now entitled to the higher rate because blah blah... from .... until 2008

Help with Personal Care
You are now entitled to the middle rate because blh blh.....

So that's good right????!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't need to take a week off work to fight for more? There's nothing missing is there that I don't know about?

Now we are getting the high rate my mum can apply for carers allowance for looking after L while I work.

We can also reapply for the blue parking badge and should get that as long as my GP sends his part of the form off this time.

So, that's that... or is it, are we missing something that she should be entitled to???
It's only when you speak to other mums whose children have SN that you find these things out!

Yeeehahhhh! We're off to IKEA tomorrow to spend too much money. He can even have the snake draft excluder too! I have seen so many lovely things in there for his bedroom. Oooh, can't wait!

Thanks girls and sorry to barge in on your thread Thomcat...did you call about CTC? x

How did the shopping trip to Ikea go? Can't wait to hear!

Yes forms here and half filled in.

I don't understand why you have to fill in forms Thom! I just feel it is so unfair when all I had to do was call up and talk to them! Arrgghhhh!

Thanks, the trip went well...bit stressful, but good. We were there for 4 hours and spent nearly £250. I got a midi sleeper (not too high) bed which is great, however you have to go to a completely different warehouse for the mattress so will have to do that maybe on a weekday evening and fold it in half in my car (should be fun!). I got 4 stacking crates in said blue/turquoise and green with castors on, some more deep trays to fit into a wooden wall shelf thing (I have a way with words don't you think?) and a multicoloured snake. I bought a red heart cushion with arms and hands on (which I explained we would share) and a shelf for his art stuff which he has an abundance of - very artistic.

Got loads of other stuff and we had lunch there too. One lady said that the Thurrock branch is practically empty even at the weekends, so may try there next time. I bought me a plate drainer for the kitchen, and some plates too. Actually I did get a really useful (and the right colours too) big bin shaped table and a seat that you can store more stuff in too. I will rope my Dad into helping me put the bed up if I ever start a 4 day week.

Good luck with the forms Thomcat (grrr), let us know how you get on. xx

What would we do without Ikea? I love the meatballs with chips and gravy mmmmmm

Thomcat · 04/10/2004 11:37

The madness that is Ikea. Why is it that you go in for a bath mat and come out having spent at least £100?????

MMMMMMMMM - meatballs - goooooooddddddddddd!

Re the forms, I'm applying for the first time so need to fill out forms. I never quite got round to finishing them before! whoops! But the DLA forms have prepapred me for anything so I'll get round to completing them this time. It's just that it akes me so long to get round to finding out payroll numbers and stuff like that. I'll get there thought, no sweat
