Yeeessssssssssssss DS got his DLA!!!!

I phoned them today to see if they had recieved the consultant's report and the very nice lady told me that they had made their decision and he has been awarded High rate care and high rate motability till 2012, a letter is on its way!!! They made the decision on the 3rd, his DLA was due to finish on the 7th so I will not lose any payments or Carer's allowence.... phew!!!!

nope, i went for one of those jobseeker work focused interview thingies and they said to me "why are you even here? it's obvious you are unable to have a job right now with all the attention your son needs"

she was the one who told me to reapply for ca after being turned down but they said no again

think i will ring them and ask them to explain a bit more clearly

Obviously not "Hurray!" that you got turned down for CA, Lou.

Are you on any other benifits that overlap with CA?? I know when I was Maternity allowence they stopped my carer's allowence.

no nothing has changed, well yes i am receiving less benefits now

i am not sure if i can be bothered to pursue it, all the effort involved etc

If I am correct, you are on IS, CTC and your DS gets DLA (high rate care and motability??) Do you get housing benifit at all? Or counsil tax rebate? If so you are on the same as us and we get CA,

Not a problem Lou, I have dd1's renewal next year too, but I will make sure its in in plenty of time, not 5 weeks before it due to run out

yep, I keep putting it off and filling it in in short bursts, but then suddenly it was 5 weeks before it was due!!

I know, I was panicking big time, I knew it ran out on the 7th but they said to wait a week or so, last week and then phone.. so I did and am glad I did now..

I went to the CAB to do mine and they were so helpful. i would recommend it to anyone.

I was that she told me the award, they never used to, but she said as long as people can vertify all the details they will tell over the phone now..

last time i renewed ds2's she told me over hte phone as well, but followed it up in writing

glad the cab were good for you, personally i dont really like other people knowing too much about my v private side, so couldnt use them, but i've been doing forms like that for years, so although its grim i know what to put

Well done, it must be such a relief to have it all sorted. We've just sent off our first dla form this week so are no waiting with baited breath..

HUGE relief!! I have been so stressed about it the last 5 weeks. I thought I was going to lose the DLA, CA and some of CTC, and then have to get it all back dated when it was sorted.. but now I can relax

Get the letter today, Its actually been awarded till the day before he is 16!!! 2013!!! no more forms for ages!!
