Anyone else waiting for DLA

Form sent Friday 5th Oct. Text to say it's been received sent on 12th Oct. Waiting game now.

I'm claiming for 4yo DS who has ASD. He has speech delay, is still in nappies and no sense of danger whatsoever (!)

Hoping for MRC, as that and Carers Allowance would make an enormous difference to our quality of life - I can't work because of him and I also have a baby.

That’s amazing! How old is your son if you don’t mind me asking? And was his last one for 2 years?

Our renewal is due jan, I sent it in September and still haven’t heard. I rang to chase and they basically said ‘should’ take 11 weeks.

@malmontar ds is 5 in January. His first award was for 2 years, this is the first renewal & they have just renewed it up until his 12th birthday.

@Ilmb ours was posted 1st October, I phoned a fortnight ago at about the 5 week mark and was told 11 weeks, thought I'd phone back on the off chance I think it was Wednesday and a decision had been made the day before.

The letter arrived yesterday,

Hope it's not too much longer for you! When we first applied 2 years ago it was done and dusted in less than 3 weeks, so I was expecting the same time frame this time Hmm

Yes same here. Was given dla and a 4 year claim and was literally weeks for an answer!

Dreading our review now! That must be such a relief to get it till he’s 12 though! That’s amazing really happy for you.

Anyone still waiting? I rang (again) yesterday as we are now over their supposed max 11 week wait.... they say they haven’t requested any extra info from anyone or waiting for anyone and it’s pissing me off now! I rang last week and a lovely lady said as it was over their usual time she would send an ‘emergency email’ and Iv heard nothing, guy yesterday wasn’t that helpful and just said they have a long wait.. renewal in couple of weeks. So much depends on it inc my carers allowance. Does anyone know if there’s some sort of system when they are over the 11 weeks? How to take it higher? They’ve basically had it and done nothing with it. It’s been sat with a ‘decision maker’ since at least 3rd Dec (hadn’t rung them for a few weeks before that).
