it has been noticed that the sn board has been a bit quiet.
Now please don't use the excuse that it is the christmas holidays and you are up to your elbows in tinsle.
Or that the dc's are home and you are having to look after them.
or shock horror people might not have so many problems at the moment.

so where are you all????????????????

I am here hun - coughing up all over my pc - heaven forbid I should miss anything lol.

Jimjams2 · 21/12/2006 13:33

I am spending all day every day trying to explain to ds1 that there is no school until January. I am tempted to drive him there to look through the windows into empty rooms but am worried it will backfire horribly and either he will be svreraming the place down because the doors are shut, or even worse the school has maintenance work or something goiing on and therre are people in there..

fa la la the joys the joys.

(ps we don't have decorations (except a tree) as ds1 pulls them all down so definitely no tinsel excuse from me )

I've just been out shopping with my 3. They were all well-behaved but too many rude and obnoxious adults made it hell. And why do people walk backwards in shops and then give death-stares when they trip over the pushchair? And why .....

Anyway, I'm here now.

Blu · 21/12/2006 16:37

Oh JimJams - is this the first time he has done this in the hols?

(I am not on my pc as I have moved house and DP was confident that there was 'nothing much' to do, and the 'nothing much' that he didn't do included the jobs on his list - getting the utilities, including internet connection, transferred to the new house)

Blu · 21/12/2006 16:39

Oh, and my car has been written off by vandals, and DS's splint is rubbing him and his shoes are getting a bit tight (courtesy of crap new externalised orthotics service) so he's limping and we have to go everywhere on the damn bus. Grrrrrr.

Pixel · 21/12/2006 18:52

We've been to buy some new fish for our aquarium as we had some fatalities in the night. The lady in the shop was very casual about stepping over ds as he lay on the floor! I've also finally finished my ill-fated Christmas cake (long story!).

mummy2aaron · 21/12/2006 19:02

DS2 has done his usual trick - as soon as he finished Nursery for the holidays he forgets all his words and just babbles in his own language and shows his feelings by either kicking, hitting or kissing. Not condusive to me getting better I can tell you. DS1 broke his PS2, another nail in the coffin of my sanity - at least that kept him quiet for the odd half hour. Luckily dd is getting over her bout of bronchitis - light at the end of the tunnel - And if DH books anymore Golf time - I will be serving him up as the Turkey on Christmas Day!!!

mummy2aaron · 21/12/2006 19:04

Fio - We LOVE KFC in our house and we have it a couple of times a month. I don't care if anyone condems me it's one of the few things we all eat togther - nice to be around the table for once enjoying a meal There I am 'out' and proud - we sometimes have macdonalds and subway too!!!!

2snowshoes · 21/12/2006 21:50

look sorry. but it seems unless we all post and keep the threads active people think sn has gone all "quiet"
we could do shifts

O.K, I'll just bump it up to the top again, can't have anybody think there's nothing going on here

2000milestoeidsvold · 22/12/2006 00:49

have dd1 on summer holidays - until end of Jan - she is testing me to the limit - not helped by heat and being 26 weeks pregnant.

have had horrid gastric bug and whilst I may have been lurking not really felt like posting iyswim.

constant refereeing between two dds as well.

Not even attempted to take them shopping - dh and I have been doing it in tandem - I go out, he stays in, I get home, he goes out.

Had to do a talk at the local hospital about my role as a new parent support person for the Down syndrome association - so was preparing that - think it went well.

thankfully in the new year a few docs appts to take the pressure off dd1 being home and asking for kindy and school everyday.

maddiemostmerry · 22/12/2006 01:18

I am here now

mummy2aaron · 22/12/2006 15:57

I am here and bumping everyone.

SaggarClaus · 22/12/2006 16:20

I'm about but.....

busy being a taxi service for the dss whose social life puts mine in the shade.

Plus dd is still poorly - coughing like a 40 a day old man and a bit blue round the edges.

Spanish rellies are here, my washer broke last week and I'm just catching up, also helping mum and dad who are due to move in the New Year.

Sorry to hear about the car Blu and the lack of internet connection.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

2snowshoes · 22/12/2006 17:16

2snowshoesitsnearlychristmas · 22/12/2006 19:10

good

Troutpout · 22/12/2006 19:32

i look in and post occasionally.

Pixel · 22/12/2006 20:23

Well, two of the fish we bought yesterday are dead already and I've no idea why. The phone has stopped working. And I crashed my car today with both the children in the back. .

Everyone was ok thank goodness but my poor car is abandoned outside my friend's house as a lovely policeman drove it there for me. Insurance company is closed until 27th so that's that.

Not having a good day and have come on Mumsnet for comfort.

SaggarClaus · 22/12/2006 21:49

Glad you're all OK Pixel.
