I can't believe it. Feel like we don't "deserve" it Blush as he's now 7 and we're so used to his needs that I just thought it was all kind of normal (he was only recently diagnosed with ASD, and is my first child and only boy, so I didn't really know what was going on).

I've enrolled him in swimming lessons which he's very excited about and also at Beavers which he doesn't yet know about! I'm also going to use the backdated lump sum on going on a Haven holiday. We couldn't afford these things before.

What does everyone else use their DLA for? :)

Thank you Suze. I'm hoping to get him some therapy for his dog phobia but can't find anything

I use my dds dla to help with the extra running costs of driving a van with a toilet so her toiletting needs are not so restiricting, I use it to pay towards sports, yoga and dance clubs to compliment her Physio.
I have used to buy bike trailers, buggies (city and off road) slings, scooters and bikes all to giver her as many transport options as possible.

I also use it pay for a zoo pass and to treat her and myself sometimes because our life is ducking hard sometimes.

When we got a back dated payment after appeal I treated her to a projector (we didn't have a TV at the time so all cartoons were on the laptop) and myself to a fancy hand blender /whisk thing Smile

Thanks for answering, Herrena :) I really want to get a zoo pass but he's scared of most animals so would be pointless really! DH bought bikes and bike trailers back in June actually :) they're ace!

I used some of the money for Merlin passes as we live near the Lego discovery centre. I am a single parent and Ds an only child so I only had to pay for his as I got a free carers one

We use DS' DLA to part fund his ABA.
