I was doing a bit of research on colours after watching the Autistic Gardener and found a bit of research on Children's favourite colours on Autism.
My little one's favourite colour is RED and he has moderate to high autism.
I just wondered if the colour Red was a familiar colour for Children to choose on the autistic spectrum or weather it has no meaning at all?

Purple. Considers it a wizard's colour.

Another vote for red here. My DS (5) wasn't on the red team at school sports day and it triggered the most monumental meltdown!

Red here for DD!

My Ds will always choose anything pink or sparkly at the moment!

DD loves blue.
We had an interesting conversation the other day about this.
She used to love everything pink and would reject blue stuff because that was 'for boys' - her words. Now suddenly it is blue and she told me the other day she only pretended to like pink because that was the colour girls were 'supposed' to like!
No idea about DS. Will have to ask him. Probabaly blue!

Ds, severely autistic prefers grey and red clothing.
When colouring he uses any colour
His bedroom is a bland cream as he can't abide patterns, his carpet is blue and it is the only thing in his room he hasn't destroyed so he must like blue as well

Grey, blue and glittery here!
Although too glittery and sparkly can send DS rather high!

Another vote for rainbow here - DD loves rainbows and also has one of those projectors in her room.

Dd likes red too! Although she proceeded to say that she has 11 other colours that are her "favourite"Confused

My ds has aspergers and his is green he would live in that colour if I let him!

youarekiddingme · 26/07/2015 18:02

Green - because apparently it's the colour of slime!

However all his clothes are red, blue, black and grey and his room is red and blue! These are the colours he chooses for things.

He has moderate autism.
