He heeeeeeeeeee

He amazingly wonderful 1-2-1 teachr even sent me a pic seconds later so she could point out the distance walked with a note saying"

Charlotte walked from her walker to the water tray today.
She was a bit wobbly and she made some lovely sound effects going "woooooooooaaaahhhhhhhh"!!!!!!
I gave a huge cheer when she reached the other side.
I think the wet floor is what made her do it.

Agggggggghhhhhhhhhhh! Wo hoooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to speak to her tomorrow and hear it in person as well.
It must have been about 5 or 6 steps I reckon.

Ha haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh God, I'm so happy, sat here with massive grin and very stingy eyes

Oh, I can see some light and it's wonderful

Please God, please, please, let her do it again soon, please.

Go Lottie GO

What fantastic news!

I actually got stingy eyes readng that as it reminds me so much of the feeling you get when your LO acheives somethign like this.

totally agree that these little milestones that get overloked in the NT world mean sooo much.
I remember crying when Ds's teachetr told me he had eaten an apple!! she looked at me as if i was mad lol.

So pleased for you both...you'll have to paint her trousers with Go faster stripes

Thomcat · 28/09/2006 23:06

I walked her into school all this week, parked car in my special spot, then hold both her hands and walk behind her, then we get to the corner and I make her walk with one hand holding mine and she uses the wall for support a bit. Then this morning she saw a friend of mine who she really likes and she virtually ran, I could feel her really going for it to get to my lovely friend and she wasn't hanging onto me. It's all so positive. It's just so good to see that light at the end of the tunnel at last.

that is brilliant news TC - you know in a while she will be wanting to run off and you will wonder if it wasn't better when she wasn't walking ( which of course it isn't)

BUT YEH!!!

Thomcat · 28/09/2006 23:17

Everyone always says that Edisvold 'you'll wish she wasn't once she starts' but I won't, I won't EVER think i wish you weren't walking. I might think come back here you litle monkey but I'll never ever wish she were still bum shuffling.

I'm ging to buy her a skirt for the first time, a proper skirt and maybe her feet will gro and she'll be able to wear proper school shoes

And I'm going to have a party once she's really confident. One where she can run around and be properly involved for the first time as well.

Oh - DD1 and DD2 might really really take their first proper steps very close together and start properly walking at the same time. WoW, my dream would have come true!

It's more of a premonition than a dream actually.

marthamoo · 28/09/2006 23:22

Fanbloodytastic, TC Attagirl, Lottie!

milge · 28/09/2006 23:30

Fantastic TC! I really hoped it was your thread.

Now she is weight bearing on her feet, they will grow, probably as fast as you can keep buying her new shoes. My paed told me that feet only grow when they are being used for walking/weight bearing, as they need to grow to support the body. DD walked at nearly 3 and went from a shoe size 5.5 to an 8(was 4 this week).
Hooray for Lottie.!

chipmonkey · 28/09/2006 23:48

Thomcat, so glad this is your thread! Go Lottie!

oh TC - her feet will grow like mad - dd1 went form a 5 ( roomy on her ) to a 9 in about 9 months!!!

I too don't wish dd1 was not walking.

My favourite is watching her run in the garden and play football with her dad - she is a mean footballer!!

sandcastles · 29/09/2006 01:48

anniebear · 29/09/2006 07:00

Even dh had tears in his eyes when I told him!!!

Bloody fantastic Lottie! May you run rings round your mother for ever more

Thomcat · 29/09/2006 13:14

Thanks everyone.
Yes will be lovely to go shoe shopping with her.
Tried when she started school, got her feet measured and said, okay, could you show me the school shoes please. The girl looked all akward when she explained that there were no school shoes in lotties size, just pink * lilac first walker tyoe shoes.
Eve is already wearing shoes that Lottie hasn't long stopped wearing!
