Only a few days here, ds starts Weds. I am starting to feel very nervous.

How is everyone doing?

Anyone fancy a handhold over the next few days?

DS has left - fine getting into his uniform and the taxi - hoping for no phone calls!

hazeyjane · 03/09/2014 09:36

Our first day was yesterday and went well.

Today, not so good.....

Good luck to everyone starting today! Hope your mornings went well.

Bilberry · 03/09/2014 09:42

Hazey sorry today wasn't so good. Second days can be harder; we had tears at school the second day but ds is settled now. I think the excitement of starting school can carry them through the first day then reality hits... (Sorry, I hope I am not worrying those with first days today).

autumnsmum · 03/09/2014 09:45

Bilberry your not worrying me , I know dd2 will have a meltdown tomorrow or maybe Monday!

fairgame · 03/09/2014 10:06

Well DS was brilliant this morning no problems at all although it's unlikely to last, it never did at his last school.
However the bastard taxi didn't turn up so I ended up doing an 80 mile round trip to take him myself. God knows if it will turn up to fetch him home Angry

Sahkoora · 03/09/2014 10:25

They have told us DS's transport details at last, the problem was that the school has moved sites this year so everything has had to be reorganised. We also have to provide booster seats etc for our kids.

Unfortunately the county council have taken this opportunity to cut down on escorts on the transports. I don't know what the ratios were before but now it's 1:7 on DS's transport and some of them who have apparently done "travelling independently" courses (which none of the mums seem to know about!) can make do without an escort at all!

The other mums are up in arms and are talking about a boycott. This isn't possible for me because driving is really aggravating my SPD at the moment. Really don't need this worry! A lot of them and the school and taxi co are on at the council so hopefully something will change before tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone starting today, I think I will be joining you in saying DS will be fine tomorrow but will probably not be in a week or so!

Hi all I'm wondering what mood dd2 will return in

fairgame · 03/09/2014 14:07

I'm just hoping DS will return full stop!

Apparently the taxi didn't turn up because it got lost Shock

Housesoftheholy · 03/09/2014 14:50

Ds went off really well this morning, if a little reluctant to get on the bus. Also wondering what mood he will come home in, he has never done a full day before!

Sorry to hear your ds second day wasn't so smooth Hazey as others said I'm expecting second day meltdown or on Monday too. Good luck sahkoora and hope your ds makes it home ok fairgame

Wishing the best to everyone! Thanks

fairgame · 03/09/2014 16:03

He's home!
I was a little worried as the escort rang me to ask which way to turn out of school Hmm
He's had a great day. There is a home/school book which actually tells me about his day and has some photo's in of what he has done. I'm so relieved.

Hope everyone else's little and big ones have had a good day Flowers

autumnsmum · 03/09/2014 17:18

Dd2 is home , she too has a home school
Book

Housesoftheholy · 03/09/2014 20:15

Great start here too! So pleased don't think it could have gone better. Now just for it to sink in this is all day, every single day.....we'll see. But for now I'm so happy with today

fairgame · 04/09/2014 09:30

Day 2 and another taxi disaster.
It arrived today which was a good start. However i got a call from the escort at 9.10 saying that there had been a crash on the motorway and road has been closed. They have had to divert all over the place and would be late and DS was getting anxious and frustrated about being late.
I know it's not their fault but AARGH!!!

Housesoftheholy · 04/09/2014 10:12

Oh your poor ds fairgame how unfortunate for him.

I am astonished ds went off even happier today. It made me laugh because the bus escort said he had given them a running commentary on the bus yesterday of everything they drove past. Just what he's like with me

Sahkoora · 04/09/2014 11:16

DS got in the taxi fine and was a bit nervous but nothing worse than that. There was a little boy that he knows from his class in there so that helped.

Can't believe he's gone and he's actually in school! It's so quiet here, DS2 has played brilliantly all morning without getting harassed and I haven't been yammered at about Frozen or dinosaurs for three hours now.

But having said that, I did feel a bit teary! Even after ten months of being on the edge of a nervous breakdown!

I have dared to book a hair appointment tomorrow to cover up the grey hair too! Part of me is waiting for a phonecall to say come and get him, can't let myself believe it won't happen any more.

Good luck to everyone else starting today, and double good luck to those on their second day! xxx

Bad day Friday dd2 came in crying , school have written in her book she is unsettled

Housesoftheholy · 09/09/2014 06:51

How's everyone getting on this week? Ds has got off to a flying start and seems to be really enjoying going to school. Only trouble is with change his sleep goes out the window and he's up at 4.30am everyday and then is just wailing with tiredness when he gets home until tea

fairgame · 09/09/2014 08:16

Ds had a bad morning Thursday after his taxi was late to school due to a road closure. Friday he refused to get dressed and went to school in his pyjamas.
Yesterday he said he wasn't going to school at all and I had to force him to get dressed, but then he came home last night full of the joys he'd had a brilliant day and has gone off happily this morning!

autumnsmum · 09/09/2014 09:01

Dd2 had a bad day Friday and yesterday but went off happy today , now her dad wants to move her to mainstream

salondon · 09/09/2014 10:34

First day here... She wanted to go to the garden rather than in the classroom.. Her ABA support took her in but she was all teary eyed... Lets see how the rest of the day goes

fairgame · 09/09/2014 11:59
