It took me about 5 seconds to work out that we'd just had a completely "normal" exchange (even the eye contact was 'right'). Then I had to pick myslef up off the floor. 7 years I've waited for this!

Bet it never happens again

oh that;s funny. With my business comp winnings I treated myself to a camcorder. I need to practice stuff for my research next year and am currently practicing recording and transcribing ds1. Anyway just played him some - and on the video I was saying "what are you eating", and he replied in RL - 'ee een" (biscuit) which he was eating on the video but not RL. Which I thought was quite clever.....

That's great news!

Jimjams2 · 26/07/2006 09:03

He's not that into boogie beebies, shouts at it quite a lot. He likes Lazy Towm though, and teletubbies are still a big favourite.

Mind you he likes Nemo at the moment, whcih I was surprised about.

I've seen this thread in active convos since yesterday and never clicked on it. Today I suddenly thought I wonder if it's Jimjams? So glad it was, what a breakthrough. Congratulations!

suedonim · 26/07/2006 14:58

Wonderful news, Jimjams - sounds like a bit of a breakthrough!

Davros · 26/07/2006 20:46

Wahey Jimjams, that's MASSIVE!

Jimjams2 · 26/07/2006 22:40

He's very with it at the moment. Magical goats milk He kept running outside during tea time, and my mum said "ds1 you can go, but come straight back to your tea".... and he did!

Berlimey, another clunk moment, usually once he's outside you can't get him back in.

Are you doing low salicylates too? I saw one of your comments on another thread about the online consultant. Always fascinated by the dietary stuff as it makes such a difference to DS1 (who is NT but mildly eccentric, with ADHD/dyspraxic 'things' but nothing major).

Jimjams2 · 26/07/2006 22:47

Well I wasn't doing low salicylates. I put ds3 onto goats milk becuase I wanted a high A2 milk for him. Howver having looked into salicylates ds3 reacted really badly to peanuts (above a certain amount each day- he was a headbanging loon), so haivng found out that cows milk is high in salicylates compared to goats and having seen good results on goats I am thinking of it. Ds1 doesn't have much that's high anyway.

I need to source Epsom salts cream now- he drinks bathwater...

Jimjams2 · 26/07/2006 22:48

sorry ds1 reacted badly to peanuts, ds3's too young for them!

singersgirl · 26/07/2006 22:52

I used to use Epsom salts in the bath and it gave DS2 dreadful runs coz he drank it too, though it did bring DS1 down.

Interesting about the goats milk - I did trial it briefly with DS1 but it was all too inconclusive as he was having lots of other off-diet stuff. He has a bloody nose again today from a doughnut at school yesterday.

Well, good news, whatever the reason!

Jimjams2 · 26/07/2006 23:00

Must admit I didn't expect the goats milk to make much difference, it made a huge difference to ds3, nothing startling to ds1 although he has been very calm for the last month or so, people have started commenting!

jimjams, like everyone else, i hoped, really hoped that this would be you.

fantastic.

really interested in the dairy thing. ds is just in a better place without cows milk products, but because it's only eczema we're lax and then we wonder why ds has had a cough on and off for 4 months.

i'm sorry for the digression: am so enormously chuffed for you. i'm sure it will continue.

Chandra · 26/07/2006 23:16

I may be getting premenstrual, I'm so happy for you that I'm in tears.

Chandra · 26/07/2006 23:18

really, really chuffed

beccaboo · 26/07/2006 23:18

Jimjams, that's !!
