you know it was only 6 weeks ago but I seem to have forgotten all the pain!! I think I had pain for about 2 weeks. lifting el was hard but manageable after about a week but kept to a minimum. wound still not healed properly still leakingSad but I think that its because this is my second section and they cut along the previous (big) scar and not sewn it up properly so still have 2 holes which leak seeing dr this week for 6 week check so will mention it then. im loathed to take anti biotics which is what they will say I need (I don't) I think I should be referred to plastics to see if they will cut awsy the old scar and re sew (they won't)

poor FIL died this morningSad Sad Sad dh been awake all night.

I've been up also with el puking with blood streaks in it, got really freaked out about it so rang mum at 1:30am (sorry mum) hes not done it since so think it was due to the retching he was doing. alex the obly one who slept all night had to wake him to change nappy like mum says he shits for EnglandGrin

Isitme1 · 12/05/2013 16:53

How long was the pain that stopped you from doing anything? How far could you walk once you left hosp?

Sorry for your loss (to you and hubby).
May his soul rest in peace.

thanks he was in so much pain towards the end, I think its just a relief that hes not suffering anymore. It still hasn't sunk in for me but i have good memories of him I didn't see him towards the end as I was looking after the babes.
I remember being taken to see my grandfather in a nursing home he was quite end stage dementia I don't think he even recognised me and he was t he shaddow of the man I loved as a kid I wish I hadn't seen him like that. Sad think I was about 10

I pushed for discharge the next day which they are not always happy with but didnt want to be away from el for too long. I think it took a good week for my insides to not feel so tender. we did the speed bump test. Wink coming home I made dh do about 5 mph over speed bumps after a week of not doing much I could go over the bumps at usual speed. mum may remember a bit more than I do as she was around a lot to help. think I had good and bad days with the pain which was much more this time than with el. and the codeine I was taking gave me a splitting headache for about three days

Isitme1 · 13/05/2013 10:25

My grandads got dementia too. Hes getting to stage where at his worst he doesnt even recognise mum or remember what tablets hes had (hes got cancer again and has oral morphine at home. He once took too much) and he forgets the days and keeps talking about being on the mountains in his home country but can't remember what he did that morning.

Thanks giddy for the info. Very nervous atm. Just want to cry and pretend that its ok. Appointment Is at 2. We're going shopping before hand to make time pass and get some baby stuff. retail therapy
Ds poo'd like a normal child!! Not too much straining ( well normal to what I remember lol)
Hows el now? X

Hi all,
Jess so sorry about your FIL glad he is at peace now. Thoughts to the familyX
Hope your LO's are OK and Eli has stopped puking.

DGD try not to be too worried (difficult I know) Hope appt goes well
Glad DGGS is pooping better!

Reasonable weekend Much fitting and shitting say no more. Double gastro appt on Weds one with surgeon and other with gut paed luckily both are very approachable.

Hope the other old lady on here is well Grin

Giddypants · 13/05/2013 13:34

el still has a low grade temp (38) which calpol isn't touching but making him his normal self. no further puke except for a mouth full last night after he woke up crying. just put water through the pump last night to keep him hydrated seems to have worked. Grin no idea where the infection is coming from nothing obvious anyway and while he is himself im not too concerned. I'll start to worry when he stops screeching at Thomas the tank engineGrin
dh gone to meet with funeral directors today Sad he's getting bits of music together that his dad liked for the funeral. I think if he busys himself with things he enjoys (dj in spare time) he feels useful.
hope the fittingSad Sad Sad Sad and pooing has resolved 2old the poo I can deal with all day!! I think there is a sence of achievement when you get someone all clean, but I suppose thats the nurse talkingWink

don't be afraid of having a section isitme if it is the best and safest thing for you I'd rather go into a controlled environment where I know everything will be safe and within (to an extent) my control. I just like to have a planSmile
I think the unpredictability of labour never appealed to me pain doesn't phase me uncertainty does!

Isitme1 · 13/05/2013 18:45

Ordered pump should be here delivered in 10 days and bought the new avent bottles plus milk storage pot things

Right birth plan:
Supervised birth (drs) plus option to go to theatre. They dont want to do section as they have to push bladde4 down and they dont want to touch anything to do with kidney system due to kidney problems but if need be they will.
They will review this birth plan again in a months time and I will be having growth scan as baby is big lol.
The consultant saw the anxiety on my face and mums. She offered the section at first and im still open to it but they dont want to do more harm than good and as it problems with after having ds they will beexextra careful as what happened is mostly due to mismanaged birth which could of been avoided.
Feel better now I know x

Giddy your dh djs in spare timw mine ebays lol.

Granny glad the gastros are approachable. Our new 1 isnt.

isitme. so pleased it went well and you have a working plan. as jess says if you feel a sense of control you will cope better mentally. dont envy you though. childbirth for me was the pits unpleasant.

20ld. like J says, hope all that crap evil fitting stops!!! I am going to make some more buddy buttons with bamboo !!! fabric. It is eco, unbleached, more absorbant and a natural fibre and as soft as a baby's bum, so maybe better than ordinary fleece. I will make you some for annabellakin. I will also be making a lycra suit for elbear just for the hell of it and a soft comfy armchair too! (maybe)??

Isitme1 · 14/05/2013 11:02

They've said if needs be they will section but they don't want to put the pressure on the kidneys so for the next month the birth plan is normal delivery then after growth scan as baby is a fatty lol they will decide again. Baby is measuring 2 weeks ahead of dates so they just might have to reconsider birth plan.

Oo check sneeze out being all creative!

It's only because Elliot keeps wriggling off the sofa and falling on his head, as observed yesterday! And I was considering getting a ppod.
Glad you have a plan isitme. X

2old2beamum · 14/05/2013 13:25

DGD So glad you are feeling happier about your birth plan. Don't forget it is your body (very unmidwife talk) Like Oldsneeze birth was horrid for me!!

J we have a p.pod for Jay it is fab and he loves it and you can tether fasten them in. We have wheels as well.

We have stopped the fitting for the time being...don't trust the little bugger further than I can throw him

Dearest oldsneeze yes please to buddy buttons GrinSmileFlowers

xxx to all.

Isitme1 · 14/05/2013 14:33

Thank you.
Aww el the wriggler :)
Dont know what a p pod is but they sound something like a chair?
Glad the fitting has stopped granny

you know the only think I bought for alex was nappiesBlush he lives in his brother's hand me downs.
I have just bought a new sling for him though I love my slings Grin

el just been to see salt who I think was quite impressed with his B noisesGrin Grin

right best get on with tea. We're having roast dinner ive not cooked for a while I think dh deserves feeding Grin

Giddypants · 14/05/2013 16:02

p pod is like a bean bag with a supportive insert.
I can see mums argument that he needs to be encouraged to work at his sitting all the time and not just put in the p pod and watching tv. but yesterday he was too poorly to sit in his child rite and I needed to keep him up right as just been fed so fell off the sofaSad rock and hard place!

Isitme1 · 14/05/2013 16:19

Aww baby el.
I can see where sneeze is coming from but I can see where you are too.
I suppose you could use it for x amount of time in a day?

All of baby no2 s stuff are ds1s lol. Mum thinks im being horrible so to prove I'm not I will buy a new outfit.
X
Roast dinner sounds nic3.
Not cooked for dh for a while (apart from breakfast) as we munch wt mums lol

Decided on special tomato soft touch sitter as a compromise seating. It can be in a relaxed recline and also upright. £280 bloody pounds...they see you coming in SN! Gali is alive and well on fb bd site.

Will start sewing tonight when the Blush heating makes the house bearable and I can take my coat off! Will buddy button it ASAP Grin

2old2beamum · 14/05/2013 18:37

We liked the p pod as Jay is so stiff, he does seem to relax in it. We were advised to let him use it for 1.5 hours a day so he has to spend most of his time in his wheelchair.
What I did like about it was as he has scoliosis they did him a mould (that looks wrong) Fortunately the NHS funded it Grin

DOS (DearOldSneeze) glad I am not the only one who is frozen I've got the central heating on and am thinking of lighting a fire Sad

Glad Galli is ok

Giddypants · 14/05/2013 21:24

back down stairs with el after him being sick in his bed left alex upstairs with monitor on. waiting for dh to come home been to his mums to give her some roast dinner. hope she likes it she is the best cook ever Grinmakes a change her eating my food for once.
DFIL had his post mortem this morning and the body has now been released so the funeral is planned for next tuesday. he wanted the big limo affair so 2 booked SIL (law unto herself) said that because alex took up a seat he would have to go in the second car with a load of strangers while her 2 (adult) sons travelled with us in the first car I wasnt there but dh told her where to go!!
oh and that he could be held in the car and didn't need a car seat, until it was pointed out to her what the law was!
alex waking up now, took me over an hour to get him so sleep Sad and now hes crying best go sleep tight everyone xx

Isitme1 · 15/05/2013 08:41

Aww has he got a cold or something? Thats making him sick?

Sure ds has mild asthma as he is always coughing just at night but dont want to drug him as of yet lol.
Oooh what id do for a normal house! !
Weve got run of the upstairs of 2 houses.
1 room is bedroom
1 room with ds toys in plus bros clothes (he was here on holiday and is going back to his wife in Australia)
Next room full of crap that needs chucking literally from floor to ceiling its stuffed just a small pathway to walk through to the kitchen plus small old bathroom that is now our storage room and then a living room which we cant use until bro goes back next week.
Id love a proper house but its better than the 3 of us being stuck in mums loft (plus baby)

Aww hope hes better today and gets to go tomorrow.

Told mum that boob leaked. Apparently its a sign that labour is near?
Dont know about that. I hope not as I dont want dc2 to be im hospital and ds1 to be stuck at home without mama.
