We have to be there for 8am!! [urggh] He is on the afternoon list for the Botox and will be put under a GA. Very nervous and worried about the GA. But I know this is the best thing to do.. so won't be here tomorrow.. wish us luck :)

After all the fussing the nurses made of us waiting to see the consulant, when he came round he said 'I put on his notes that he didn't need to see us!! Angry
Anyway, we get there for 8am and are admitted to the ward, they do general checks, temps, weight, height etc. Then we play on the playstation for a while. At 11:30am we went to the physio dept to take part in some research into AFOs and CP. Then at 2:30pm we are finally taken to theatre. Ds is sitting on my lap with a mask over his mouth, all the time saying 'why are you doing this to me?? :(:( he starts to drift off then BAM!! his legs give way and he just goes all floppy......... They take him quickly from me and lay him on the bed, me and Dh are moved out the room.... I burst into tears at that point...
After half hour we are called to say he is in recovery. We went round and he is awake asking what happened. He had 4 injections in total. We then waited for the consulant (who we didn't need to see again anyway) and DS has something to eat and drink, and then we were finally allowed home at 8pm, got home at 9pm... am very tired now.

sparklymieow · 14/03/2006 23:33

I'm shocked that they were good.. comeon didn't you have to tell them off at all??

OP posts:
misdee · 14/03/2006 23:35

i had to tell your dd1 not to say hate, and remind them to say please and thank you. oh to put one toy away if they wanted to get the board games out. but they were very good.

oh your dd2 caught my dd2 fingers in the door, i told her to be careful, didnt tell her off but she got a bit upset. was meant to tell you. i gave her a cuddle and said i wasnt telling her off but she needs to be aware that dd3 does get everywhere.

misdee · 14/03/2006 23:36

sorry my dd3

sparklymieow · 14/03/2006 23:39

Oh good, sounds like it went well. I hope he's feeling OK today. When DD came round from GA she croaked "I want crisps"!! Grin

heartinthecountry · 15/03/2006 08:54

So glad it went well Sparklymieow. Does the botox take effect straight away?

macwoozy · 15/03/2006 09:12

Glad to hear it all went O.K.

sparklymieow · 15/03/2006 09:54

No the botox takes about 4 weeks to see and feel the effects. He has gone to school today, he wanted to go.
