Easter Holidays

How are your Easter Holidays going so far? The weather has been great, so the kids have lived outside and had picnics for lunch. DS3 who a month ago wouldn't have entertained eating outdoors sat with his siblings and their friend eating sandwiches (a first and NT for my ASD boy!!!) on the climbing frame platform. It was heartwarming to see. Hoping for more firsts over the holidays, he is now giving hugs and kisses - that was my Mothers Day present from him Smile

Sounds like lots of choccy going about. Our DCs have lots too, but we only got DD an egg. DS is currently into saving up for a bouncy castle and only wants money for everything (very focussed)! So much so he told my parents off for giving him mini eggs and not money Blush. They took it well.

Creat waves back at Sign. 11 baptisms... I should have come to your service, ours was unusually quiet and a bit dull.

Sally our DS used to stand outside the door of the hall we meet in and then suddenly one day he went in. We had a period of him going in and out and now he is right up at the front strumming his electric guitar along with whichever band happens to be playing (he's not plugged in lol). People often speak to me about how much God speaks to them through the way DS is in church. He just does what he feels is right with none of the social niceties getting in the way. Sending prayers that things will turn around for your DS. Sending prayers for you too Sign.

Coff33 hope London is all going well and glad you managed to de-blue your DS.

OH almost forgot.... I arranged for a boy from DS school to come on a playdate. He came this morning and everything went really well. DS has been invited to go for a return visit. This is a massive step forward. They actually played together and DD didn't hijack everything. The all played together Grin Grin.

One of our neighbour's kids is now in playing with them both and they are all playing together Grin. Talking of which, I'd better go and quieten things down as DH is on lots of business calls today

AAaaaagh today has been bloody awful, ds has spent half the day screaming (please don't be coming down with something, ds!) the dds have spent the day fighting or moaning and I am a tense snappy old cow with a headache and stomach pains because I'm getting all stressed out about genetics appointment on Friday.

And breeeeeeathe, I'm hoping dh won't mind if I hand over 3 whingy dcs and go for a walk when he gets home!

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 11/04/2012 16:24

Sad Oh dear. I always used to hate school holidays, then feel guilty cos all the earth mothers with their perfect DC used to go on about how they loved them. All crafts and baking. My 3 boys wouldn't cut and stick if I paid them! Grin

Good luck on Friday and roll on next week!

School holidays. Shuddddddder! Don't worry Hazey, it's nearly time for their bedtime and then you can open a bottle of wine and watch crap on telly. Smile Days like that constitute a takeaway in this house Smile

Please don't worry about the genetics appointment. They will either give you a clinical diagnosis or say that they need to do more tests. You have your questions prepared incase and you can always email them with anything that you don't understand. That's what I always do for appointments, because you always think of something else once you are on your way home!

Everything will be fine. Go out and enjoy your evening walk. I may join you in spirit, seeing as it's such a lovely day! Smile

Ellen I am do far removed from being an earth mother! DD is always plaguing me to help me with the cooking, but I can't quite relinquish control of the kitchen..... I may live to regret thatWink

it was hailing when i went for my walk! however i channeled my inner teenager and stuck my mp3 player in my ears and listened to loud music whilst getting drenched - very therapeutic. As was the wine and takeaway later!

we have friends over today. so it will be chaos, but nice chaos.

Justa! Not nice being blue lighted. How is he feeling today? Home or in for another night?
Fair play to DS1 and his determination to get up a volcano (dodgy hip allowing!), my DS1 will be Envy when I tell him!
Be easy on yourself tonight, an early night lovely! Smile

Oh Justa, what a nightmare, I hope he is feeling ok now. Hope you are catching up on sleep and have an easy (ish!) day ahead of you.

Yay to ds1 (and you!) for climbing a volcano, very hobbitish of you both!

How fantastic Sallybear!

Genetics appointment was ok. I got a bit emotional talking about my train wreck of a family, but fortunately a friend stepped in at the last minute to have the girls. Ds was stripped and photographed and they listened and wrote down my long list of concerns. They seemed to think that a genetic cause is in all probability at the root of ds's problems, and have ordered a cgh array to be done. She ordered a scan of ds's kidneys because of his earpit, and said if the array came back all clear then she would put ds forward for the DDD study.

We have to wait 2/3 months for the results of the array, it feels like it has taken an awful long time to get to a place I feel we should have been at last year! Ah well we are here now.
