I'm not sure who normally starts this off, so apologies if I've inadvertently offended any of the usual MN posters Smile
What a week! Had a lovely weekend with family, saw my Dad who was over from Canada for a flying visit. I wake up at 4am on Monday morning in THE MOST HORRIFIC PAIN (seriously it needed the caps lock for emphasis!). Pain in my LHS kidney area. DH was up at that time to fly off to Germany got three days, so I asked him to get drugs, water and hot water bottle. He left about 4.20 quite worried. By 5 am I knew that the pain wasn't settling down and that I needed to go to hospital urgently. I managed to get him on M25 before he reached Heathrow. He came straight home and my Sister was mobilised to take me to A&E.
The pain turned out to be a kidney stone. It was worse than childbirth, and I've had 4DC! It passed 18 hours later, the size an apple pip.
I was so full of Tramodol that I couldn't do anything until Wednesday. I really don't understand why people take opium based drugs...... Shudder!
DS3 had a general anaesthetic yesterday, and that was the usual stress regardless of it being the 29th time that I've taken one of my kids to theatre. I will never get used to that shaking feeling you get after you've left them prone on a bed.
I am really looking forward to tomorrow, as I have my Maths GCSE lesson and then a girls dinner out with my best friend. Hopefully there won't be any dramas between now and then!!

S'ok, was just asking :) I'm already dreading Action at the Pod at 7 months gone...

moosemama · 31/03/2012 15:16

Ooo yes - ouch! Can you blag a camper to sleep in or will you be in a tent?

Just realised my resting this weekend consists of ploughing through ds's statement and practically re-writing it. How restful can it get. Hmm Grin

PurplePidjin · 31/03/2012 15:30

We've got a t3 and dp will be working at the show so we'll be round the back of the stage where the decent bogs are - he reckons everyone will be both delighted and helpful...

moosemama · 31/03/2012 15:34

You'll be fine then. 7 months is a lovely stage, after all the early bleugh and before you are too big for comfort! Grin

PurplePidjin · 31/03/2012 15:39

so, what do you think of Carmen Ghia Pidjin for a girl?

coff33pot · 31/03/2012 15:40

Hi all ! Hope today is going well for all. So sorry to see that a lot of you need group hugs what weeks you have had! :(

Purple........................baybeeeeeeeeeeez yay! Grin

Having a chilled out day with DS today building lego and eating toasted tea cakes yum! Going to do some baking when the lego interest has worn off. Washing machine swishing away no sun out today to tumble dryer is on a mission. Nice to not have to have school uniforms at the top of the list!

People are arriving down here in droves for the easter hols so we are in for a busy period according to the front line report from DH at the shop lol I hope the sun comes out again or there are going to be some glum faces instead of smiley ones! Its expensive down here and the beach is free for families so sun is a must.

Mad week for me and getting back on my feet from the london trip. I dont like it up there I must admit its all so rush rush rush dont think I would ever be a city girl LOL

Have a good weekend!

moosemama · 31/03/2012 15:42

Carmen Ghia! Love it! Grin G'wan I dare you! Grin

purpleP, congratulations. Really enjoyed your bit of the thread last night. And now confirmation this morning. Grand. Really pleased. Nice to hear such good news in-and-amongst all our woes.
I too went to bed early last night.
Dh didn't even meet his friend, becasue his friend was too ill to come out. but there was lots of other people for dh to have a pint with. I did think it was a bit odd that friend was well enough to have a pint. turns out, as I suspected, he wasn't. He has pancreatic cancer and also liver cancer. Dh talked to him on the phone for 40 minutes today. thats is good seeing as most of dh's phone conversations are 15 seconds long and consist of 'out tonight? great , see you in the at 8 then '.
we went to Brighton today. went on the brighton eye. was fab. so cheap compared to london eye, that we refuse to pay the price for. played 2p slot machines on pier. went on rides. had fish and chips (again!!) at harry ramsdans. was the most loveliest day. ds1 said it had been "o.k.". well i totally loved it. we don't have that many big days out, so this one was particularly lovely.

Becaroooo · 31/03/2012 18:33

IndigoBell · 31/03/2012 19:08

Purple! OMG. Big congratulations.

PurplePidjin · 31/03/2012 19:19

OK, as it's you lot and you won't tell

I am currently 4weeks 4days pregnant, can tell the world on May 22, and am due on Dec 4th. I saw 4 magpies on the way home from my mate's just now, so am clearly bearing a son. It will be my grandmother's 91st birthday on 19th May so I think the news will go public then - how cool would that be?! I want to see the dr before I tell my parents they're expecting their first grandchild bit not sure I can wait that long, and the person I'm most looking forward to telling is 4.5yo dnephew.

So far I have had no conclusive symptoms but lots of random stuff that I'd dismissed as stress or being under the weather. The cat has been exceptionally clingy recently.

PurplePidjin · 31/03/2012 20:20

Thanks! We were going to keep it to ourselves until the safe mark but this is my sides first grandchild. I can't bear the thought of keeping it from my folks, and wouldn't contemplate telling mine without telling MIL too (her 4th)

Hopefully I can see the doc on Monday!

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 31/03/2012 20:39

One for sorrow

Two for joy

Three for GERROFFER MOY LAAND!!

coff33pot · 31/03/2012 22:10

Pidj my cat drove me potty through all 3 of my pregnancies. They look after you like your their own! When babies were born she used to go out and come in and drop dead mice at their feet to help out with the feeding lol. She also used to guard them when they were in their bouncy chairs by hiding underneath the back and giving any non family hand a good swipe if they tried to touch the/her baby!

SallyBear · 31/03/2012 23:36

My labrador was only a pup when I had the twins and spent a lot of time sniffing my bump! She was less bothered by the next two bumps. Probably jaded by the irritating twins to be bothered by the next two boys! She does have a very good career of being an organic Hoover! Grin

We lost our housebun last week, so maybe she misses her little buddy?

coff33pot · 01/04/2012 12:36

awww noooo :( she probably does Pidjin. Cats also tune into you and your cycle you know. I laughed when I first read it but if I had pmt my cat was equally a grumpy so and so. Their cycle ends up matching yours. Also cats look after their own in the wild and when a mother is having kittens the others go out and do the killing and protecting. They act like they are all mums lol.

If I was asleep she used to stay awake and sit on top of the crib hood or underneath and miaow like mad if the baby woke up.

I got a bunny too but his only art is playing football Grin
