I really don't think I can get there much earlier than the start time but if anyone one wants a quick drink afterwards to chew it over and explore possible responses I'll have a bit of time then!

Starlight. What house of commons thingy??Smile

appropriatelyemployed · 26/03/2012 18:50

That sounds great but I'm not sure I can do this now. DS has had a 'non-compliant' day and has been in and out of the classroom and threatening to throw himself of the school shed - the drama.

He has a trumpet concert at 2 and I was going to leave it to DH but I'm now thinking - best not.

I will decide in the morning - as luck would have it we have our AR first thing!

tryingtokeepintune · 26/03/2012 19:10

Please may we have an update if you are able to, Star.

Toppy · 26/03/2012 21:18

Hi Star - I looked into this ater you mentioned it and would so love to come but cannot wangle it any which way I try. If you get to chip in at all feel free to use my ongoing nightmare experience as an example, esp for session 4. You are so eloquent that I'm really hoping you'll get a chance to pipe up.
Can't wait to hear all about it

Sally It's the Sharon Hodgeson thing that was Q&A on MN for a bit. The Labour party SEN review.

zzzzz I've attended these things before and I can assure you they are full of a variety of 'types'. You really don't have to be considered intelligent to attend although I'm fairly certain you're more articulate than many who will attend and that I will be somewhere in the middle.

What concerns me is the time, plus how quickly and at late notice my application was accepted. I don't think there will be many parents there.

I'm going more to get an idea about what to put into a written submission.

Btw, I don't think my DS has fallen through any gaps. I regularly grab him and hand him back to those paid to help him who at first only pretended to accident drop him but now don't even pretend, they actually throw him down the gap with force.

Sorry, not sure how that came across. I meant to say that if you speak anything like you post you sound incredibly able and articulate to me.

Stalkers on here? God I'm naive. Confused

Triggles · 27/03/2012 13:36

Stalkers? I too am puzzled. I suppose there is a likelihood that someone on here may recognise us, (and some know us in RL) but I never thought about stalkers.

An interesting notion... Hmm

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 27/03/2012 13:48

There have been issues for some posters having LA stalkers and others. (Mentioning no names.) So please always be careful how much potentially identifying detail you post.

Toppy · 27/03/2012 14:20

I'm in the middle of 'things' at the moment so am being super low key about posting, limiting myself to threads about ipad apps and Mr Tumble crushes !! Interesting, DH mentioned to me just last night that someone from our borough has looked at his LinkedIn profile - proof that you need to be super careful (and on the flip side, be aware you can bee seen stalking exes on such sites. Gulp!)

Triggles · 27/03/2012 15:22

Thanks for that info. I guess I didn't think much about it. I can't imagine what they think to gain (the LA I mean) by stalking parents here. We're just discussing their difficulties, so it's not like it's a huge secret. How odd that they take that approach.

Anyway... I'll keep it in mind... (maybe I should change my name.. have been thinking about it anyway)... hmmmm

Update:

Pregnant lady dying for a pee looking for the door!

Will you lot give me permission to have an overpriced cream tea on expenses?

OP posts:
StarlightDicKenzie · 27/03/2012 16:19

I'm being stopped at every doorway by a policeman. Certainly no shortage of pregnant lady weeing spots then!

Mainly charities, a few Independent school reps, a few LAs, no HT or teachers.

Derbyshire think state schools are great and parents that don't want it are gold diggin.

No HT and no Teachers...oh yeah thats because all state schools are great and don't need to engage in sn....

StarlightDicKenzie · 27/03/2012 19:08

Yes, mostly sensible.

We have a defined list of problems that I'm sure you'd all agree with.

No idea what the solutions are.

Everyone agrees accountability is needed but no agreement WHO.

Parents want a named person in LA, LA's want schools and schools want central government.

LA's whinging that Ed Act and CofP out of date with current funding arrangements.
