Hi all,

Rubbish week. Lots of dashed hopes. Fed up and a bit lost but I'll bounce back when I'm ready.

Hope the rest of you survived.......

You are not being silly star!

I think I know what you mean wrt the guilt..

Its only been since having Toby that I realise what a crap mum I have been to ds1....he was so behind and so poorly and no-one would listen and I didnt have the knowledge/courage to challenge them Sad

I wish ds1 had had the start Toby has had. But he didnt and I have to accept that and deal with the consequences.

You are such a great mum and will be to this newest addition...Rowy??? Smile

Becaroooo · 27/01/2012 18:22

But it is orangey/red when its sets!!! Smile

Yeah, realised after the post about Tobys HC that it may not have conforted you!!! Grin

Ineedalife · 27/01/2012 18:27

Blimey 2old2be, sounds like a really bad weekSad .

sign Your Ds sounds so sweet and his TA must be lovelySmile.

moose, yes we are pretty much sertain of a quiet weekend as Dd2 si out with friends and OH is working LOL.

becca glad you have heat and hot water, how horrible to be without them at the moment[shivers].

starlight, congrats on another little boy, I have 3 girls and was Kind of hoping Dd3 might be a boy but she wasn't and I love her just the way she isSmile.

starfish I am glad my OH isn't the only one although it doesn't stop me being v cross with him, just for being an idiot.

If I have missed anyone I am sorry but as usual I can't keep upGrin.

moosemama · 27/01/2012 18:32

Well he's not wrong about the sun setting - the cloud thing would make an interesting experiment imho. Smile

Angry for you about the notes. Sometimes it feels like the words 'professional' and 'healthcare' should never be uttered in the same sentence.

Fwiw, I think its fairly normal (well if anything about pregnancy can ever be considered normal) to feel mixed up, guilty etc when you are expecting your last dc. (Assuming you're not planning any more that is.) It's like there are so many possibilities and so much expectation with each new baby and then as you find out more about them, some of the possibilities start to slip away and you're left with the reality. I went through it with both ds2 and dd, because both times I thought I was having my last - well I was with dd, am far too old and past it these days. Blush It does get better as the pregnancy goes on though and eventually you find you are just desperate to meet the newest member of your family and none of it matters anymore.

Rowy? Short for Rowan maybe? A very lucky name I believe. Smile

Hope you can get some space this weeken to take it all in and work through your bigger problems as well.

HolyCalamityJane · 27/01/2012 18:49

Evening All,

I don't know how you all remember what everyone is up to thought about taking notes but that is just creepy Blush
But I am interested in all your news and sympathise and congratulate (apply as necessaryGrin)

A really good week for us DD was good in school on Mon-Thurs and got 4 smiley faces on her home chart Friday there was a mild chair throwing incident but it is still progress!

Have sparked a debate on the MMR on here and almost started world war 3 Blush and found out there is actually a vaccinations thread which I should have probably posted on but most likely would have got Nil replies!!

Now for some Wine Have a good weekend everyone x

moosemama · 27/01/2012 18:55

Nice to hear you've had a good week Calamity and well done your dd for getting all those smiley faces.

Don't worry about the MMR debate, its a fairly regular occurence and we're all used to it. Some people will never agree - but that's ok - we're all big and hairy enough to make up our own minds. Grin

My dh has just arrived home with chips, so that's going to blow my diet good and proper, but I'm too tired to care this evening. Blooming public transport. Hmm Going to eat them smothered in soy sauce - mmmmm! Grin

TheNinjaGooseIsOnAMission · 27/01/2012 19:06

Grin star, not wrong there.

I wouldn't worry calamity, just don't make your next one about parent and child parking spaces Grin

moose, you sound like you need a treat after all the trouble with the buses!

silverfrog · 27/01/2012 19:11

holycalamityjane -don't worry about the mmr thread Grin. there is a vaccinations section, but that doesn't mean you cannot post in here - it was more the scientific debate side that (imo) should get moved to the vaccination section.

been an ok week here. morning sickness is getting worse, not better but overall things are ok.

dd1 has been settled, and dd2 is having a great time at school.

we are house hunting, and one has come on the market which is almost perfect (except t needs a lot of work), but at top end of budget. dilemma.

LollipopViolet · 27/01/2012 19:19

Brew and Wine to those having a bad week, and :) to those having a good one.

Mine's been quite "meh". First full week back at uni, so I'm wiped out. BUT, I have a camera person for my flying film, and I'm going on a recce with him tomorrow, and with my stills photographer too. Should be good. In a way, I want to get the first flight out of the way, but in other ways, I don't! I'd hate it if tomorrow it was sprung on me that we could go up - no mental prep time at all! Still, I've seen some of the aerial photos that members of the club have taken and that excites me, this film could look AMAZING!

Other news, my mum and I are no co-owners of...

an iPad! :)

Ineedalife · 27/01/2012 19:24

How exciting lollipopSmile.

Both the flying and the ipad.

Calamity, dont stress about the mmr thing, i thought it was very tame. It needs talking about sometimes because so many people are still concerned about it.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 27/01/2012 19:27

Lollipop, I'm typing on our family iPad right now, a Christmas present to myself, really. Grin

Hi everyone, too far down the thread to mention everyone.

Star, hope things get better. As a matter of interest my 3 boys HC got progressively bigger, 35, 36 & 37cm but only DS2 is DX. Who knows, it's just another factor, one of many. Smile

I quite enjoy an MMR thread!

DS1 had his options evening at school, yesterday. God, he's growing up.

Going to visit Think Tank tomorrow. Perfect for 3 spectrummy, geeky boys. Thank-you Tesco vouchers. Thanks

IndigoBell · 27/01/2012 19:37

Wow! Just got home and looked in DS2s bag - and they've sent me a permission slip for pyramid club! I thought they wouldn't get round to it for ages Blush

Pyramid Club runs in lots of schools, and is meant to help social skills and self esteem, so may be worth some of you asking your SENCO about it......

slowburner · 27/01/2012 19:52

Haven't posted in a while, but hope I can join in?

starlightmckenzie congratulations on the blue bump :)

We have had a mixed week, DD is now 18 months Shock and we haven't seen or heard from physio since October Shock Shock we don't really know what's going on with the health care cuts at the moment and annoyed that the notes from the recent meeting with the HV state DD has adequate support when in fact portage has finished and the local scope society workshop for DD's age group is on a morning when I work and I cannot shift nursery days about without losing a lot of money. DD is also teething and she is so so miserable.

So DH took pity on me, stopped at the local shop on th sway home and bought biscuits, sweets, chocolate and fizzy. Now if he would just come down I can get dinner on Hmm

Hope everyone has a great weekend

JaneMare · 27/01/2012 19:52

evening all

can i have a quiet corner to sit and weep in please? DD has come down with D&V and/or Hand Foot and Mouth and i've had enough Sad

DH is out all night at work and won't be back until the wee small hours and i've had a bit of shitter of a day...

i give a mean shoulder massage though if anyone would like to join me?

StarlightMcKenzie · 27/01/2012 19:59

ROFL Indigo, our LA offer NOTHING that isn't in house created.

OP posts:
IndigoBell · 27/01/2012 20:04

Starlight - is your comment about Tinlsey House? Or something else?

I certainly don't get TH (or anything else) on the LA. I've paid for it all myself.....

StarlightMcKenzie · 27/01/2012 20:06

No, Pyramid!

Our LA don't even offer Earlybird because what they offer is 'better' apparently, which is incidently - an assessment to see if you need any support and for most a big fat zero.

OP posts:
StarlightMcKenzie · 27/01/2012 20:07

And schools aren't allowed to run anything SN unless 'approved' by the LA which it never is, because they think their non-provision is all any school should offer.

OP posts:
IndigoBell · 27/01/2012 20:09

Oh, Pryamid! Blush

It's been offered at both schools my kids have been at, and is run by school staff. It's nothing at all to do with the LA.

It's a fairly standard intervention.

Of course I don't know if it works or not....... Will be able to tell you in a few months :)

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 27/01/2012 20:09

Hi slowburner. You going to share those goodies? I could do with some chocolate. Grin

JaneMare, don't envy you hand, foot and mouth. Specially the mouth bit! I hope you have had it...

Star, surely you've come across Indigo's Tinsley House experiences? Grin It's been so fantastic for her three, she's barely talked of anything else for weeks.

IndigoBell · 27/01/2012 20:10

It's not particularly for kids with SN. Which is why I think it might be OK :)

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 27/01/2012 20:10

Oops, crossed!

IndigoBell · 27/01/2012 20:10
