Took ds to school and we were late as usual to avoid the hussle of the christmas plays and parents filing in.

As DS was hanging his coat up another little boy spied DS and sneaked out of his class and said "hi DS" to which DS nodded. Then he said to me "I like DS he is my friend. And even if he doesnt go out to play anymore and I dont see him so much I still like him" Grin

DS asked him how old he was and he answered 6 like you and so DS nodded and walked into the classroom but I could tell he was happy as he skipped his little skip thing he does.

Yes I cried going home lol as amongst the "ds cant cope outside" "the children are not happy with ds today" this little boy proved that it is not always the case :)

Well mixed day today. Spent all day in A&E myself with eldest DD who went downhill last night, swollen pancreas and worried sick now as they said possibly chronic which is our worst fear but I hate it when they are guessing stage.

Good news is.......................DS had another phone call...............hes been invited to Harrys birthday party!!!! its next week and its his first party invite Xmas Grin of course he is thrilled and so am I. His dad even invited him over to sleep one day but I think we are moving to fast there as they dont know ds and wont cope but it was so nice to offer :)

zzzzz I hope all is well with little DD and sending some more extra hugs for tonite xxxx

Gosh, coff33. Sure is a rollercoaster! Hugs to your DD, she could do with some good news. Sad

Really pleased for your DS, though. Party, party. Be prepared to take him home quick if it all gets too much, but hopefully, he'll love it.

Still thinking of you, zzzzz, positive vibes coming through.

:) Oh I am glad she is out of hospital now. And yes I know that angry feeling when someone so tiny is going though hell bless her :(

I would have a serious slop around PJ day for the lot of you tomorrow. A nice lazy sunday routine and dont bother to open the curtains :)

DD is settled on the settee and we are having a girlie chill. I too am angry as she has had one hell of a rotten year and been really ill with it. The docs are now banking on it being stress ulcers rather than chronic pancreatits as they failed to give her the necessary meds the last time she was in seeing as she carrys the gastritis bug and has had the ulcers before, but we wont know till the scan dates and endosopy which will be after xmas now. Scary as the latter is fatal at some point and so there is a bit of an anxious cloud and the results show it is still swollen but then docs have a habbit of doing that to you and being totally wrong so that is what I am banking on for sanitys sake :)

Ellen I am totally prepared for the quick gettaway should it all fare too much for DS at the party. I think Harry is excited as he has phoned our house numerous times and I can hear his dad going "put the phone down son" "down now you have already asked" hahahaha! bless him.

Not nice being in hospital at any time of the year, coff33's DD and little z. Really glad you are both home. Here's hoping for a calm and peaceful Christmas Xmas Smile and a much brighter new year.

tallwivglasses · 19/12/2011 11:56

Just caught up with your thread, coffee. Think I have something in my eye Xmas Smile

oodlesofdoodles · 19/12/2011 19:22

Coffee I thought your ds had an asc but after reading your description of the playdate I realise he can't possibly ;)

coff33pot · 19/12/2011 22:02

oodles I could say I would wish for that but that would mean I would lose my querky boy and it would be so odd without him :)

It went well under extreme planning and the only thing that was missing were the wall charts for the pre attack meeting as if I was going to war lol. Everyone else was thrown out of the house so it was only us 3. It would have totally fallen apart if I had a full house Grin

What a lovely little chap Smile

All it takes is one act of kindness, that's all our DCs need. Go Harry!

coff33pot · 21/12/2011 22:22

Well to update the saga Xmas Grin

We went to Harrys party today! DS was a bit worked up to start with, clothes issue, tag issue and shoe issue Grin But he got out the door in the end. Decided to walk there as he would be more relaxed when we arrived.

He was Harrys only friend there so I consider it an honour that DS was invited and I am so glad for Harry that DS didnt panik to much and demand not to go :) Harry himself doesnt go out places as he cant cope with places like mcdonalds etc so I found out and has issues in school too bless him. So I think these two have found soulmates and I think he is a fantastic lad.

He didnt eat much and as he loves food I put that down to nerves and was quite happy playing upstairs with either Harry or his little brother on a ps3 in rotation. He did come down to sing Harry happy birthday and stayed down to eat cake and then wedged himself in between Harrys Dad and Harry on the sofa playing Harrys DS. He was socialising with Harry and saying a couple words to his dad, whilst playing and I think that was keeping his anxiousness away.

He avoided the kitchen at all costs as there were a lot of adults in there but managed to go in for cake so that was something.

AND I had to go and his dad offered to drop him back in a little bit. I was a bit worried but his Dad said dont he will be fine. He stayed with them 45 mins more on his own! Grin

I asked him when we got home, if he would like Harry at his party and he frowned and said maybe not mum his house is a bit crowded. Once I explained it would be in OUR house and it would be just Harry he said "oohhh I see yes please then mum" I asked if he was happy he went and he mulled that over for 10 mins staring at his DS then said (no smile mind lol) "actually I am happy, very happy"

So am I and have said perhaps we could make Harry coming to tea a regular thing when xmas is over and have said Harry is more than welcome to come out with me and the dog with DS so I may have two hareing along the beach instead of one. I think they are both going to do each other the world of good

So happy ending to Harry and DS tale Xmas Grin

That is great, a really happy story. Xmas Smile You may have to work at it a bit, but it sounds like they'll be good for each other!

Hope your DD is doing well. Xx

Thanks :) Yes I will have to work at it but I dont mind that at all :) DS on his own turf is more relaxed and so its just pure social skills practice that having the lad around will definately help with. If I keep it on a specific day I can make sure the rest of my family are out and so its just the two of them which is better and far less chaotic for either child. Outside he is ok as long as its open space like beach, fields etc where he can run and I think the lad is of the same making there. They both like soft play so there is a good place here I could take them both. I have plans muahahahaaha!

His parents did say DS could sleep over one day but that would be way to much too soon. But he felt confident to stay tween Harry and his Dad so he may feel more relaxed visiting for a short period when its not crowded as in a party. His parents seem very patient people so you never know. I also took the bull by the horns and said DS has SN and they didnt bat an eyelid so that made me less anxious as that was the first set of parents that havent x

Well done, coff33. It's always hard to actually say these things out loud. They sound really nice and hopefully pretty laid back. Xmas Smile

coff33pot · 22/12/2011 12:46

Thanks all :)

frizz your DS will find a Harry I am convinced now that there is someone out there for everyone to befriend :)

zzzzz that is lovely news that she is doing well I am so glad for you :) and a LOUD here here! to a boring year! Xmas Grin

DD is getting there. Potassium drips, glucose drips and vitamin drips have given her skin a lovely glow so she is not so tired now and at least looks like my little girl (shes 21 lol but still little to me) that in itself is giving her and us a more positive outlook. :)

Yes and a BIG Happy Christmas to all :)
