Some of you might be interested in this test

It costs £20, and tests:

Processing Speed:
Working Memory:
Auditory Memory:
Visual Memory:
Long-Term Memory:
Visual Processing:
Auditory Processing:
Logic & Reasoning:

Word Attack:

And gives you an age equivalent and percentile score for each section.

The results tally with other EP reports I have had done, so it seems pretty accurate to me.

Thanks guys. I do feel 'suitably loved'

But more importantly I am finally on the way to cracking DDs problems. It has taken me 5 years to find out what her main problem was. 5 years!

And this report for £20 told me in half an hour. (And it wasn't at all what I thought it was)

Now I know what the real problem is, I'm confident I can fix it. It's now clear why almost all of the work we've been doing (and all the work school has been doing) wasn't working.

So I'm high as a kite :) I'm going to crack this.

would love to know how it goes if anyone else runs the test

Becaroooo · 05/10/2011 19:45

I have done it (or rather ds1 has!)

Was fine. Easy to understand and ds1 did it with no problems/stress.

plumtart · 05/10/2011 21:21

if you dont mind, how did yours compare to other tests you have done? fairly similar?

coff33pot · 05/10/2011 23:02

Indigo if I had been on here I would most certainly have supported your character on this!

This is both useful and appreciated. And its daft that someone has gone totally OTT over it. £20 is peanuts compared to the amount some people have spent on this board. I am definately going to bear it in mind for personal use. There is no harm in doing a test from home that could be totally beneficial in outlining an area that needs attention that just might have been missed by proffesionals Smile

Becaroooo · 06/10/2011 07:44

plumtart doesnt really agree with the EP report on one thing but my (crap) EP report didnt test many of the things in this test, so cant really compare.

Was surprised by a couple of results (much better than expected) and not so surprised by a couple of others (very low) Sad

IndigoBell · 06/10/2011 09:47

Ok, one of my friends whose child has the same dx as DD (dyslexia) has done this test and emailed me the results.

The scores are very different - except for the fact that they have the same weaknesses. :( Both my DD and this friends DC have the same 2 scores in the red ( < 25% )

Both our children have had EP reports, which gave a dx of dyslexia, and didn't pick up these weaknesses. :(

So if anybody else is as obsessed with dyslexia as I am, and does the test, and PMs me the results, we can pool our knowledge of what does and doesn't help.......

(This applies to lurkers as well as regulars :) )

Thanks Indigo - that looks like it could be very useful.

I do wonder why people thought it would be a cure Confused
