The Happy BOOM! Thread

Once upon a time there was a MNetter called Wilson.

She may have got drunk while MNing. These things happen and we mustn't judge.

While she may have been a teeny-tiny bit drunk she mis-read, or mis-typed, because who knows really and these things are often lost in the mists of time? another MN's idea of having a happy book.

And thus the Happy BOOM! was born.

Many, many MNers (like Ellen but this is a safe space so we'll get her later) took the opportunity to shout BOOM at poor Wilson the next day when her head was all poorly and sore, but she has risen like a phoenix from the ashes of her hangover to start the Happy BOOM! thread.

And now she comes among you to ask for your tales. Funny, sweet, happy stories of you and DC's please. Let's try and keep this one going so we have something nice to read on the tough days. And feel free to shout BOOM!

Because we can.

BOOM!! To ben10s DCs.

VeraCanSignChocolateAndWine · 01/09/2011 19:10

Can I add a happy BOOM please? (and resurect this thread)

dd2 can now sign "sorry"!

She signed sorry to the Portage lady for knocking over a brick tower onto her. Sorry to the dog for tripping over him. And today signed sorry for being naughty and kicking the poor dog, although I had to take her ice lolly off her first.
It's brill because I now know she understands that her actions can upset people.

fab! Grin, great signing and used appropriately... double fab!

can I add one? (or two)

ds has just been asking me to read to him, (two little books and a story from his Peppa comic) he was reading some of the words too.

Also we had been working on recognising the letters in his name, (he has got the point of looking at his name written down and arranging the letters underneath.) we haven't done any writing letters, but this week he asked for his crayons and wrote the first three letters of his name, right order, and not copied from anything, from memory !!! Shock Grin Grin.

I'm afraid that I laminated the bit of paper... Blush so I can keep it ...

VeraCanSignChocolateAndWine · 02/09/2011 15:50

Good use of laminator. Well done signandsmileJnr. :o

WilsonFrickett · 03/09/2011 01:40

Aw Sign I love that you laminated it!

I have a new wax jacket which DH was giving me pelters for earlier. He shouted to DS 'shall we get a pony WlsonJr' to which the answer was a long drawn-out wail of 'GIRLS!!??!!'

Gender stereotyping and humour? BOOM!

(also I really like my new jacket)

got another one... Grin ds has attention span of a gnat, but he watched about an hr of 'charlie and the chocolate factory' 2 weeks ago, and loved the songs. yesterday I caught him singing, "chewy chewy da-da-da" over and over and realised it was one of the songs (his version) so today we are watching it again. (only the middle bit in the factory, but this is the longest he has watched one thing, he is telling me about it, "oh no!!, eee put in the bin!!!" (verruca salt) Grin).
makes me think we will be able to go the cinema at some point Grin.

Yesterday DS went out on his own with his Grandad. Dad had taken my other DD out the day before on a trip and he decided he would like to take ds out instead of just the usual up the park senario but farther afield this time so he could also say he had been on a trip. For two days I discussed the trip with ds and told him he was going on a bus (never been on a bus) to a familiar place. Dad didnt want me to tell him what he was going to be doing so I was a bit nervous about it and thought he would be coming back home sooner than he thought. Morning came and I had tears in my eyes watching DS walking away holding Grandads hand (soppy sod me)

Well the bus went ok, they went into one shop that DS knows, walked miles, fed ducks, saw fish, walked more to see boats and a pirate ship. Dad bought food instead of taking him into a cafe with the hussle and bussle but DS chose their lunch of cream buns, sausage rolls and ice cream Grin Then walking back Grandad spotted the train station and asked DS if he would like to go home by train. (never been on a train) he said yes! They were gone 4 hours and he had a great time. When home Grandad said "thanks for coming mate" I looked at DS who immediately grabbed his nintendo when he came in and locked on it and said "what do you say DS?" meaning a thank you was needed. He looked up and said "thanks for coming mate" to my Dad it was so funny.

Today was on phone to my mum, ds was 'bothering' me (only cos he didn't get to the phone before I did, so didn't get to pick it up) I told him to (nicely) go away. He did, and returned with his laminated 'STOP' sign, which he put firmly put in my eye line and said clearly and calmly 'Mummy STOP'. Grin.

There wasn't a lot I could say to that... Grin. It did make me laugh inside tho'. Sauce for the goose eh?
