The Happy BOOM! Thread

Once upon a time there was a MNetter called Wilson.

She may have got drunk while MNing. These things happen and we mustn't judge.

While she may have been a teeny-tiny bit drunk she mis-read, or mis-typed, because who knows really and these things are often lost in the mists of time? another MN's idea of having a happy book.

And thus the Happy BOOM! was born.

Many, many MNers (like Ellen but this is a safe space so we'll get her later) took the opportunity to shout BOOM at poor Wilson the next day when her head was all poorly and sore, but she has risen like a phoenix from the ashes of her hangover to start the Happy BOOM! thread.

And now she comes among you to ask for your tales. Funny, sweet, happy stories of you and DC's please. Let's try and keep this one going so we have something nice to read on the tough days. And feel free to shout BOOM!

Because we can.

She didnt have her hearing aids in at the time, so it was doubly boom. I just hope I stay as mummy now, will save having to explain to people that she calls me daddy. Do you think i'll be pushing it to try and get her to say it again tomorrow? :o

My DS, age 6 and who has 100% of all food and drink via tube and always has, DRANK 100ML OF FRUIT JUICE the other day!!! BIG BOOM!!!

And he is having 20-30mls of fruit juce or water orally, 3 or 4 times a day every day now BOOM again!

I have tears in my eyes from all the lovely Happy Booms... They are wonderful.

Like Vera, my daughter said 'Mummy' for the first time this week (she is 2.3, so I have not had to wait as long). It was an amazing, lovely thing to hear. So clear, as well, despite being the first time.

But I think your tales of class members cheering/waving and son's singing songs to your toes are even more lovely. What a super thread.

DS had a conversation with another child. It was a bit wierd, like the boy asking him what road he lived on, and he replied 'I live on the M25' and when the boy said that the setting sun was going to Amercia, ds replied that Amercia has 10 lane motorways, but Crocodiles live in Africa.

But still......

StarlightMcKenzie · 25/08/2011 10:51

LOL at Vera.

Love this thread.

EllenJaneisnotmyname · 25/08/2011 10:54

I have a huge happy BOOM today.
Last week DS's physio brought a walker for him to try out. He's 2.8 and absolutely petrified of standing. He will not even stand up holding onto my hands.

Fast forward to not even a week of coaxing him into it and he is WALKING in the walking frame. DH still has to push it along, but DS is bearing all his own weight and taking steps. He looks so cute standing up and walking (sometimes he even smiles)!

coff33pot · 25/08/2011 13:24

LOL at VERA Grin

Great convo and great interaction star Grin

Well done on the walking StillinMyPJs big BOOOM for that Grin
