any grown up should have the common decency to know that taking the piss out of children/adults who are disabled is bloody stupid, and shows him up fro the utter wanker he is.
the same can be said for his supporters,
if you think this is ok, would you lol if your kid was being bullied, bet not.

I dunno about Mock the Week being any better. The one time I watched it, there were some really awful jokes about child abuse followed pretty closely by some jokes about John McCain's limited mobility. That was all in the first 10 minutes at which point I turned it off and rattled off a pretty disgusted email to the BBC.

I got a reply pretty much in line with Channel 4's response to the Frankie Boyle's thing saying "What some viewers may find controversial, others will consider hilarious and necessary comments about the world around us. Indeed some viewers would consider the programme to be failing if it were only to deal humorously with targets that were acceptable to 100% of the British viewing public." It went on to say that John McCain was a public figure and therefore fair game. (OK, yes, his views are way off and pretty much comedy gold but notsomuch his physical disabilities )

I am of course both a guardianista (as much as you can be living in industrial S Wales LOL) / of impeccable leftie credentials and quite able to see where the fault lies LOL- it's fuckwittery not politically based.

I quite liked him on MTW but there were times I would inhale deeply and say to DH he's not quite right.

As for the uncontrollable sexual appetites- ha bloody ha. have worked with people who do have sexual issues (IMVHO down to being made to live a life of a monk and never spoken to or given the chance to speak about sexual matters- people need to express their needs one way or another) and those who have no sexual appetities or awareness whatsoever. There's not one disabled people identity, much as there isn't one NT identity either.

I do find it so strange that people think it's valid to mock a disabled child. I just can't get my head around such a complete lack of empathy. It's frightening - and I don't even have a child with sn.
Bullet, I read that thread too, I think Jade is being genuine with her questions, if a bit cackhanded. But the other one...unbelievable, really. That's lack of empathy combined with arrogance, you do tend to shy back from the screen when those sort of comments appear. Just to physically distance yourself from the vileness.
