Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on special needs.

Ok I have put up said it nicely, but I have had a drink and have had enough, so I am going to say it how it is, so flame me.

ok here it is...............

Frankie Boyle is a waste of space.
any grown up should have the common decency to know that taking the piss out of children/adults who are disabled is bloody stupid, and shows him up fro the utter wanker he is.
the same can be said for his supporters,
if you think this is ok, would you lol if your kid was being bullied, bet not.
the stupidity of the supporters shows why the support such a piece of shit.
they need to grow up and realize real people, real families are hurt by this crap.

and breathe
yep i may have name changed, but I still hate
bigots

rant over

I used to really like that show Mock the Week - Ponders, I think that's the show you were talking about in your earlier post. The other comedians on the show were funny and Boyle was sometimes funny with witty remarks about society and politics.

However, I watched a stand-up show with just Boyle in it and DH and I were underwhelmed. Not offended or disgusted by anything, but it was just a bit flat.

Seems he uses the shock tactic when he's on his own to make "jokes"

Slagging off disabled children is inexcusable though, no matter what the situation.

I don't have a child with a disability, so I'm not a regular on these threads. But I do have a professional background of working with adults with disabilities.

maryz me too
I am shocked (still) by the so called intelligent people who make excuses for this stuff.
tbh it lowers them to below his level

Sooosleepy can we do the same for DP, she shouldn't be allowed to continue being so bigoted on here

trouble in mn hq have never got disablism, if you report it you get the standard email....

whilst we know it is a difficult subject, it is important to allow these debates.

or some such crap....

hey now there is an idea, perhaps we should lobby mn hq to out law disblist posts on mn

Sooosleepy · 13/12/2010 11:14

Ah I was on a different thread last night. DP just came on the one I was on so I twigged and saw the one you were talking about. Probably for the best that I missed the one in AIBU.

Actually this dimension - that sn people sometimes do have uncontrollable sexual appetites is kind of true too - thanks for the nice old-fashioned masculinsising of intelligent women who don't agree with you - I thought I'd left that behind at school

still on mn
not deleted yet it is very offensive

OP posts:
Sooosleepy · 13/12/2010 11:32

I reported that one too - maybe they just over looked it by accident, they had so many to delete! Surely anyone would consider that to be offensive! I'll report again!

nightmarebeforechristmas · 13/12/2010 11:55

tbh I gave up reporting, as they are so unlikely to delete.

FB is what he is - plenty of totally suitable descriptives as already mentioned. What worries me more are the DM readers and defenders of FB who don't have their colours so visibly posted. Where are they working - how is their stifled bigotry affecting their job and how they do it - and more importantly - is it affecting any of the services we use.

here is my reply when I reported the post I put on here earlier

*We agree that this post is in poor taste but we don't tend to delete on those grounds because it would be really hard to know where to draw the line.

The truth is, we don't think we should be the arbiters of what people should find offensive and what they shouldn't. On the whole, we think it's better to let the boards self police in these instances, as it's very rare that a tasteless comment is left unchallenged and we can see that you and others have done just that on this thread.*

same old same old
things will never change on here unless mn hq realises that disablism is wrong

Bloody hell, I'm really shocked by that, I thought they must have just missed it off when deleting the other comments. Yeah actually i've noticed in the past mumsnet have let a lot of really offensive posts stay, namely dp and name beginning with X.

Anything we can do about this?

SantasMooningArse · 13/12/2010 14:57

YANBU

half of MN thinks that a parents giving their child crisps once a year is absuive, the other thinks kids are valid targets for this kind of crap 'joke'.

Barmy.

Kids are not valid targets. In fact, nobody who cannot answer back is a valid target. Frankie Boyle is a 'boyle' on humanity and should just Fuck Off.

Is that what you were getting at NBC? Wink

bullet234 · 13/12/2010 15:00

Frankie Boyle is a pathetic waste of space. There is no excuse for his decision to verbally attack a defenseless, individual child.

SauvignonBlanche · 13/12/2010 15:05

Blush Blush Blush
Confession time..................I bought DH a copy of that twat FB's book! Blush
Disclaimer - this was before his DS 'joke' and way before his latest stunt.
The book is now on my bedside table, I haven't read it and refuse to do so. I really don't agree with book burniing so any suggestions for what I should do with it?

nightmarebeforechristmas · 13/12/2010 15:08

well ds has his dvd.......
so wouldn't worry.

NO!! Shock

nightmarebeforechristmas · 13/12/2010 15:12

he is 18, I think in it is the only way he can rebel.
strangely I spoke to him about this, asked how he would react if someone made a joke about dd like this, he said he would deck them.
so I had to let it go.

OP posts:
SauvignonBlanche · 13/12/2010 15:19

There's not a lot you can do when you get to that age. My DS used to think he was hilarious on Mock the Week (as did I) but he's only 13 so wasn't watching Tramadol Nights, thank God!

nightmarebeforechristmas · 13/12/2010 15:25

so waht can we do about mn hq who are adults?

OP posts:
bullet234 · 13/12/2010 15:30

When Boyle was on mock the week he was basically guided as to what he could and couldn't say, by dint of the programme's schedule. So most, if not all, of his truly vile opinions never saw the light of day on it.
With regard to MNHQ I honestly don't know what to do about their hypocrisy. Allowing despicable comments to be made along the excuses of free speech does not wash when they (rightly) censor other despicable comments.

donkeyderby · 13/12/2010 15:44

that comment about disabled people having 'uncontrollable sexual appetites'....wasn't this a comment levelled about black men in less enlightened times? Hmmmm....I wonder how that would have faired on here....

Oh, but the Guardianistas/MN crowd probably think that disabled people don't FEEL or hurt or notice, do they? They are not quite.....human. Cock your head to one side, go 'ah', give them a pat on the head, and a penny in their cap and hopefully they'll fuck off and stop making you feel so embarrassed and uncomfortable.

I LOVE SN mums! We're such warriors!

SpotSplatterSplash · 13/12/2010 15:45

I was actually surprised that he has so many people ready to defend him, and his vile views.

He is very disgusting.
