..I wouldnt say in control! Just got a bit of good stuff to cling to this week! :)
(so Im ignoring DDs snow/ice panic, more regular nightmares, getting up at 3.30am, stopped eating and disliking food she used to eat...waiting for autism team, IEP review put off due to snow and not being sorted until sometime next year...blah blah)

Any way...Im not bursting my happy bubble...yay for DDs new SALT! Grin

Glad your DS enjoyed soft play chuckey...my DD has always loved watching fans too! :)

2 bedroom, even better. Nothing worse than all being crammed into 1 tiny room.

purplepidjbauble · 10/12/2010 18:57

Bigcar, your cat looks just like mine! Have uploaded a pic to my profile so you can see Xmas Grin

PS DD looks gorgeous

bigcar · 10/12/2010 19:07

purple, thanks, I think so too, although I may be just a leeeetle biased about dd3 Xmas Grin I can't see your profile yet, our cat is called meow because that's all she does, all day and all night. She's such a soft natured cat and such a fluffy tail Xmas Smile

purplepidjbauble · 10/12/2010 19:18

Oops, sorted that now, bigcar.

Mango is hugely fluffy and very very calm and placid - so much so that once he gets his "CRB" from the Pets as Therapy charity, he will be accompanying me to work Xmas Grin One of the houses used to have 2 cats but the staff weren't taking very good care of them so they were rehomed. Management and residents are very pleased I have found a compromise.

bigcar · 10/12/2010 19:24

awwww, he's lovely, big ball of fluff, bet the residents will love a cuddle with him.

woolyxmastree · 10/12/2010 19:56

Yey DCs in bed...not sleeping yet...so its wine time! Grin

DS just had a few minutes naked time....so I just had to clean and fabric freshen my carpet! Blush Nice! Just sharing that with you as you do! Xmas Grin

A cat with a CRB!!? Confused What are they expecting to find a record of catnapping?

OP posts:
purplepidjbauble · 10/12/2010 20:01

Lol, wooly. It seemed the simplest way to describe it to the residents, as they're used to staff waiting for crb's.

He could be guilty of all sorts, though...
Catnapping
Kittyfiddling
Cat burgling
Wanton cuteness
Grievous bodily fluff
Actual bodily fluff
Purring with intent
Purring without tent
Kitnapping
Napping
Causing a public distrubance

bigcar · 10/12/2010 20:04

well, 2dcs out at scouts and 2 asleep so wine oclock here now, feeling rosy cheeked after just 1 glass Xmas Hmm

ghoulsforgodot · 10/12/2010 20:06

evening all
great hearing all your news.
Had a nightmare of a week with the weather-nearly got stuck at work on Monday night. Been living in the local soft play with DS as nursery been closed.
Oh and a lot of my christmas pressies have still to arrive. Panic panic!
About to sit down with a wee glass of wine and put my feet up!
PS Starlight that holiday sounds wonderful.

FanjoForTheMincePies · 10/12/2010 20:13

Hello everyone, sorry I have been absent for a couple of weeks. Been busy putting house on the market, poorly kids and then no internet for a week (boo Virgin).
Was DS1's school xmas fair today, but we had to leave after 20 mins. He was confused going into his school and got upset. Then he cheered up (after some chocolate) but kept trying to grab all the items laid out for sale, or pull the tablecloths or touch the cakes...It was a nightmare so we left.
We had a good day beforehand though, so not all bad!

fightingtheurgetoscream · 10/12/2010 20:25

Had bit of stress this week - went into loft to get the tree down only to remember that we threw it away last year as it was broken! Cue huge meltdown from ds. Have now got a new one and will decorate it tomorrow instead. Ds sang beautifully in the choir this week but am glad there's only a week to go until we're off. Hope you all have a 'restful' weekend.
Star Xmas Envy
Fanj hope you feel better soon.

purplepidjbauble · 10/12/2010 20:27

Fanjo, I'm almost sure cats are easier than children. OTOH, I got my pair at almost exactly the same time as I started working with kids with SN, so I practiced all my behaviour management techniques on the kittens...

I now have one cat that walks on a harness and lead, answers his name, waits his turn at dinner time, and plays fetch...

If all cats have Asperger Syndrome, then the teaching methods bloody well work!!!!

PS Poor you, legolady, Sounds like a bit of a catastrophe

FanjoForTheMincePies · 10/12/2010 20:30

I always had a cat, my last one was put to sleep while i was pregnant with DD, he was blind since age 5, a lovely old cat.

I havent got another because I am worried DD will be allergic, she has a million allergies, and also because my mum thinks I shouldn't and says she won't speak to me if i do ( i am 38, yes, she has ishoos!)

FanjoForTheMincePies · 10/12/2010 20:31

also, DD would probably manhandle the poor beast!

woolyxmastree · 10/12/2010 20:53

We used to have two cats, they hated each other, loved DD although the older one was very upset we had a baby and her behaviour went downhill, she would slap any visitors in the face! Hmm We had to rehome them when we moved into a pub. :(

I would like another now but DP is not keen.

On another note DD was super sweet this week and said Im her best friend! :) She then helped DS by covering him in nappy rash cream! Shock Then told me Im 'special fantastic'! I feel a name change coming on! Xmas Grin

bigcar · 10/12/2010 21:13

we always had a cat when growing up, I loved it. But having had really small dcs for what seems like forever it didn't really seem fair, ds2 is 18 months now so felt the time was right so got a rescue cat last month. She is soooo much part of the family already, ds2 adores her, follows her every where Xmas Smile
