hi
My son is 2 years and has not as yet been dx with asd. I just feel like he cannot understand anything I say at all. Has anyone else had a similar issue and what can I do to help him? I am paying for private speech and language therapy and have a lady from portage coming to see me next week.

He says a few odd words here and there but I always feel its without meaning. TBH the not speaking is not the problem for me yet its the lack of understanding.....any suggestions would be much appreciated

”teach me to listen and obey” by Laura Mize is good.

Hi everyone..my son will turn 2y in the
of the month. I’m so scared because he doesn’t communicate, just like to play around, he used to watch a lot of youtube kids ( sensory ) but we cut him off now. he doesn’t understand nothing we say. Just sometimes when he’s about to do something wrong and we say NOO and he stops. But he’s very happy, funny, love to play with his sister. If he wants water or anything he will get it, or he will grab my hands to pick it for him. And he knows how to go to YouTube on tv and on his tablet. He clap his hands, give us kisses when we ask. But never said a single word, and he never listen when we call him by his name. He’s nearly 2 but he’s behaving like 9 months. We tried to get help, but they said that is to early. I just don’t know what to do. I don’t know if he will understand us. PLEASE HELP

@BubblesDaD hi ur little boy sounds like my daughter she is now 2 yr 7months and still very behind but now saying lots of single words she can say the alphabet, count to 10, knows all her colours she can say all her animals and sounds. She loves books and now points to stuff in her books and says what they are, understands so much more now. Today was the first time she asked me for ‘juice’ she’s coming on great. Still so young got to give them time and believe in them 💝

@Nrsmx Thanks for sharing this with us! May I ask you how did you deal with all this situation, and what did you do to help your little princess getting better. My boy is nearly 2, so i can’t wait to see the doctors again and start taking him to professionals to diagnose him. I feel really scared about this. He’s a lovely boy, and friendly. Today he was shaking the lamp, and my 9y daughter was telling him to stop, he just ignored her. And she said, dad is coming, and she called me, I was in the kitchen, and he immediately stops and starts pretending that he was dancing or doing something else 😂.

@BubblesDaD So i got the health visitor to put her referral in for speech and language and the paediatrician when she was 18m but it’s like 2+ year wait unfortunately! So it’s just been a case of wait and see and just keep doing everything I can to support her! She’s in nursery 3 full days a week which I feel as helped her massively also attends a toddler group and a dance class which she loves 🩷 it’s so hard but I was so worried when she was turning 2 and still not saying anything or understanding at all. But now 7 months later we are slowly but Surley getting there, see they know exactly what they are doing just like to wind us up 😂
