It's Friday night folks..

Had a totally mad week really.. The whole household has been in some state of the flu thing... We dsed a random chappy today. ( it's a bit like being tiggered!) who couldn't believe the stress we lived under constantly.
I have worked really odd hours..
Haven't decided what our pumpkin will be yet.. But I have just about sorted out the theme for Xmas and the cards.
But if we are all feeling up to it I'm taking the dc's out in their wooly warm wrap ups, with wellies and going beech combing and fossil hunting.
( love cold windy beeches.. As they are empty for ds! And there is nothing better than a hot soup and chunky home bread picnic!)

so what about you lot?

I've felt a bit brighter about things this week than I have for a bit. Maybe it's cos it's half - term Grin had letter from CAMHS saying they are invoving parenting team- what is this and what do they do? Is this 'cos they think we are crap parents?

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 22/10/2010 20:29

no idea childrenofthecornsilk but your have to let us know. Maybe they knock on the door and say "hello we are from the paretning team, we hear you suck, so we are here to bully you into doing it our way, which is always right" Wink
Im shattered, DD2 has taken to waking btween 3-5am and keeps getting up until we finally get up!

OverflowingMum · 22/10/2010 20:29

Hi Lisa...It is a local support group for parents and kids with aspergers. Every other Sat they have a kids group, for children, their siblings and parents(who need to stay if kids under 8) but they also have monthly parents meetings, and run a teenagers group too...semm such lovely people, we only joined a couple of weeks ago..and they run a yearly weekend away for siblings too...wish I'd plucked up the courage to join sooner[hgrin]

Gah what a tiring day! DS2 has been on top form rom gettin up as he thought he was at respite today. Not until next week said I, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh said he.....so I escaped to Tesco for a couple of hours and spent far too much money.

DLA mobility grant has been awarded to him as well Grin. Lower rate as we applied for, so all is good.

I thought it was Friday yesterday as the kids broke up from school, and was so sad that no friday night thread had started. Was even going do one myself, until I realised. How much of a knob would I have looked.

I avoid the beach this time of year as DS2 would dive into the freezing North Sea.

Hope all these poorly children are feeling better soon.We had a poorly household a few weeks ago.

OverflowingMum · 22/10/2010 20:31

gosh lisa..that sounds waaaayyy too early...

LollipopViolet · 22/10/2010 20:50

Hmm, mixed week here.

Had to change my film idea due to not being able to get hold of people for interviews, which is a bit :(

Had 4 hours sleep last night :(

My feety pj's that I got YESTERDAY from Primark have a hole in them ALREADY, not happy as they were SO comfy :(

But, am taking H to her first ice hockey game tomorrow, and because the seating is all up steps, the accessible seating is right by the ice, where normally you're not allowed, so I should get some AMAZING photos! Hope she enjoys it :)

TheArsenicCupCake · 22/10/2010 20:55

Glad to see everyone piling in :)

my lot finished school yesterday too.. And I had to remember it was Friday today!

Corny.. I've never met the parenting team.. But I am going to assume you are a terrible mother < fnarrrrr>... actually I'm guessing they may just go through the things that you have already tried and see what else may work.. And give you a bit of support, maybe accessing a behavioural therapist If they think it's needed etc etc ( font panic if they say behavioural therapist.. I bloody loved ours and she is now considered a loss to our family as she signed us off! :()

before you meet them it may be totally worth noting what you have already tried so they know where they are starting :)

Lpv .. Make sure you keep up you portfolios and grab any experience you can... It can really help pay the bills :).. Also freelance stuff can be cool while your finding your job job. ( you just have to remember to have lots of selfesteem!)

I saw a funny ad in the local pet shop earlier. It said tortoise for sale - good with children. I've never met a tortoise that's bad with children - what would it do,chase them?Grin

They're great - really like the cave and waterfall ones. Where were they taken?

fightingthezombies · 22/10/2010 21:29

TACC - I used to have a tortoise called 'Slowcoach' when I was a kid and it ran away!

LollipopViolet · 22/10/2010 21:30

They're great lisa :) I'm just browsing Flickr now and seeing who else I can add as a contact lol only got 1 so far!

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 22/10/2010 21:30

in chedder Somerset. Is it worth taking photo classes or is it something you pick up as you go?

LollipopViolet · 22/10/2010 21:39

Well I do a film production degree and they teach us composition by getting us to take photos first. But before that I always had a "knack" for getting a nice photo. I think you can pick it up, but a class might be good for some, not for others. Depends how well you usually pick stuff up I suppose :)

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 22/10/2010 21:40

I have never understood it all just like to get nice shot with my nice camera

Taysh1109 · 22/10/2010 21:51

Hello everyone! I just got in from a double shift at work (a residential centre for young people with severe learning disabilities) and I've just come home to reports that my own little one has been a terror all day!!! Confused
I have an extremely large glass of wine in my hand... and I'm way too tired for the house-full of DP's mates that I have returned to. Beer, and Fifa on the X-box. Woop. Not.

DD has had a great week though... she has learned to sit up on her own from lying down, and she now sways side to side if you say "are we dancing?!" Grin clever little sausage!

Sounds like you've all had eventful weeks, half term to look forward to now!

Fightingthezombies - I LOVE that you called your tortoise Slowcoach... brilliant!

5andahead · 22/10/2010 21:54

LPV, hope you have a great time at the hockey game. My cousin is doing some sort of media studies at university. She loves it.

Had a lovely day with DS2 today actualy at the soft play across the road. it is only a smal one in the leasure centre, usually quiet, but a coupe of kids turned up while we were there. DS2 actually approached a boy and asked himwhat his name was. He then tried to play alongside him, but I think he gave up as couldn't understand the game. We left after 10 minutes as it started to get busy (which is unusual) and DS2 started getting flappy.
