I chose to recieve a text when a decision had been made so they text either way or?

Mumto4and5 · 08/10/2026 16:40

I rang them and he confused me even more. My evidence arrived , but now it’s with a case worker waiting to go to a decision maker apparently.. but I thought it was past case worker part. He said details are being checked and that I’ve got all evidence etc.

I asked for a text update as well but he said some decision makers work remotely and they don’t have facilities to text , that’s why the texts are hit and miss. Xx

@Mumto4and5 thats so confusing isn’t it! Well when I rang Monday a man told me my scan date was 14/8 I was like pretty sure it isn’t! Rang back today and got told it’s 28/7 as originally thought and that it’s with a decision maker! I could ring tomorrow and would be told a totally different thing I think it’s so hit and miss! Do you think it’s with a case worker being checked again as you sent in new evidence possibly?xx

Yeah could possibly be why. It was just a SALT report so don’t know how much difference would make to the claim really but thought might as well just send a copy anyway lol xx

I’ve been asking chatgpt the likelihood of an award with all my daughters medical details etc. I actually think I’ve lost the plot 😂 xx

I’ve been doing the same 😂😂

Mumto4and5 · 08/10/2026 18:55

@Dannidanni2106@Md234i actually feel like I’m going insane at this point lol

chatgpt tells me she should be minimum middle rate and good argument for HRC. Can I print it off and use as my supporting evidence 😂😂 I fully trust chatgpt judgement 😂 it’s worrying how many times I’ve spoken to them like they are a real person haha xx

@Mumto4and5 the only thing that’s making me doubt is his age cos they’ll say he still needs a certain amount of care anyway! Which is true but I no he requires more than the average 2 and a half year old! I’m well ready to put in for a mr anyway just gunna hurt to actually hear he got declined if that’s makes sense! Makes me feel like I’m not believed when I’d happily let them come sit here for the day and night x

TheRarePanda · 08/10/2026 20:51

I’ve done this with copilot and claude. I find copilot a bit overly positive in life and is said HRC and LM. Claude said MRC and either LM or no mobility. It will be interesting to see if either were accurate and if anyone else has done that and found it accurate.

Oh amazing if that’s the case, maybe I misunderstood 🙈 I’ll contact the GP and see if we can get the ball rolling for a ASD and ADHD assessment (best of both worlds 🤣) The transition between yr2 and yr3 I hear is the hardest for them so at least if there is a diagnosis by then, I hope the school can implement movement breaks etc. I suspect my son (twin brother) has ASD too but is a serial masker so the chance of anyone taking it seriously is little to none unfortunately. Thanks for your help x

Hey, sounds like you're in a similar boat to us. DS is 7 and he heavily masks at school. They don't need a diagnosis to support our children and implement movements breaks etc but they do need to believe us.

It took me 1.5 years to get a meeting with the SENCO. I had to show videos of what we were experiencing at home in order to get them to pay attention because they were adamant DS was "fine" but he was heavily suppressing his ADHD and Tourette's in school. By the time he left infant school at the end of the following year (Year 2) the cracks were starting to show and he's not able to fully suppress his tics or stimming towards the end of the school day anymore. This causes him a lot of anxiety and his school work is suffering.

His autism is also more obvious now. We're at the very start of a 3+ year waiting time for NHS assessment because the first referral was rejected due to DS not struggling academically... and that rejection took 10 months to come through. So we're waiting again. But the school have absolutely been able to do things to help. He has movement breaks, decompression time, fidget and concentration aids like wobble cushions and a weighted backpack. He has a card on his table that's green on one side and red on the other and he can use it to let his teacher know when he's struggling. They've done an assessment of his sensory needs and they can refer to occupational therapy and educational psychology.

DS was holding everything in at school and then exploding when I picked him up and it was really hard for me to film it because I was quite literally having to keep him from death or injury on the walk home - a 10 minute walk would completely destroy my nerves! But in the end they couldn't argue with it.

Just coming on for a whinge that I’ve still not heard about a decision. I’m not even convinced my scan date is right any more. Sounds so stupid but it’s consuming my thoughts constantly!

I posted the forms on 13/07. Heard nothing. Rang on 30/07 and was told forms were received ok on 20/07. So I took that to be my scan date. But I have never had any text or letter acknowledging this. I’ve rang up since and been told no decision but that’s it. So now I’m wondering if 20/07 wasn’t my scan date and it was just literally when they received the forms and the scan date is after this? Ahh I don’t know any more.

I should just put it to the back of my mind, I know. But I’ve tried to fill these forms out on about 4 occasions and given up, this is the first time I’ve ever managed to fill them in and it took me so long!

Md234 · 08/10/2026 21:18

@beardotdo you could ring them tomorrow and they will tell you your scan date x

Yeah I might do. I’m just reluctant to because I’ve rang up twice, and whilst no one was rude or anything I felt like such a pain! I thought that when they said the forms were received on the 20th July that was my scan date, so haven’t asked again. But now the dates seem to have gone so far past that I’m thinking I’ve got the wrong end of the stick.

Md234 · 08/10/2026 21:47

@beardotdo noo not at all your not a pest! It’s why they have the job at the end of the day! Yeh something definitely doesn’t seem right does it as the dates seem to have passed but you never know! I had to ask 3 times my scan date and got told 2 different dates third time I finally got the correct one lol xx

What you need to do is call and speak to them on option 4. You need to find out if your claim has been fully registered, don’t worry too much about scan date as they’ve confirmed that for you. The same happened with me I hadn’t received the letter my scan date was 30/7 but it didn’t get registered until 2/9 after me chasing it a few times.
They have 2 systems, the first one everything is scanned into from the mail room it then goes into a queue for a caseworker to fully register the claim, they do ID checks etc maybe request birth certificate and that’s when the acknowledgement letter is generated, sent and it then goes into the queue for a decision. There was a lady a couple of weeks ago that had a game with this, they got it registered for her at the start of the week and she called and got her decision on the Friday.
Hope this helps, don’t worry too much about calling the majority of them are lovely and it’s what they are there for xx

Md234 · 09/10/2026 09:16

Good luck for everyone today!xx

Lynseyxx · 09/10/2026 09:40

SD 6/8, on hold! I know probably won’t have decision yet, but the wait makes me stressed 😓

Mumoftwinsplusone1 · 09/10/2026 09:45

On hold now to update school SENCO email address (just found out the school email addresses changed over summer) but keeping everything crossed for an answer or at least a positive update going into next week 🤞

I’ve just called, I went with option two and I spoke to the nicest person on the phone.

Scan date was definitely 20/07, she said there is a backlog but unfortunately because they’ve changed the systems over she can’t see where in the process the claim is. But honestly she was so nice, she said that it was good that I’d sent so much evidence in and that she wished me all the best!

So I just need to be patient now and wait it out.

What’s your scan date? She told me still in cue for DM but have everything they need so should be a straight forward decision. She said “I will put a note on that you have rang” I’ve never heard anyone say this! Xx
