I don't eat a lot of free food. Typical day for me is
B-weetabix topped with strawberries hex b and some hex a
L- soup (homemade) yoghurt tangerine and apple
D- stirfry, meat and veg not a lot of carbs
Usually try to have around 5 syns a day, sometimes a bit more sometimes less.

emwithme · 23/02/2016 13:21

1.5 lbs. I was a bit disappointed but at least it was a loss.

Katenka · 23/02/2016 13:25

I think the other thing to remember is, that even though a loss may be small. How much would you weigh if you had never gone?

I know I would be a couple of pounds heavier than my starting weight. At least.

So although I have lost 12lb I am probably a stone lighter than if I hadn't gone at all.

TheEmperorIsNaked · 23/02/2016 17:23

Thanks Katie. I think the loss is mainly due to giving up lager so it's probably just fluid. I feel a lot better for it though.

AvaLeStrange · 24/02/2016 18:53

I only lost 1lb in my first week & was really disappointed, but went for my second weigh in last night and had lost 5lb!

Slightly terrified that I'll have a disappointing week next week as I can't imagine getting another result like that. Have decided I'll be happy with 1lb off to get my first half stone, and any more os a bonus.

BasinHaircut · 25/02/2016 09:35

6lb. All subsequent losses have been much smaller and I've Stayed the same 2 weeks. I've lost 13lbs since Xmas now though.

I'd try not to think about losing too much in a week as I don't think weight loss is as simple as that.

Agree with Kat too, think about how much you would weigh if you didn't start SW.

I only want to lose another 7lbs-ish but I am happy if I get there by June so I only need to lose half a pound a week. On its own half a pound hardly seems worth it but long term it's half a stone less plus whatever else I might have gained if I hadn't been doing SW!

BasinHaircut · 25/02/2016 09:36

Plus the change in overall diet to being much healthier means that I believe I'll be able to carry on eating this way long term.

KatieT12 · 25/02/2016 10:27

The issue is, I do need to think about weight loss as I am a lot bigger than what you sound! I'm aiming for like 9 st! My ultimate time frame is for May next year, so I really need to stick to it, I know it's possible.

4lb in the first week. I'm quite a slow loser, been at it since April last year and I've lost 5st2lb so far. 9.5lb to target!

cowboylover · 25/02/2016 12:33

I lost 6lb in my first week which was last year.

Now I am used to plan and I know that when I am 100% my average is 2lb a week but also pleased with some maintains what I have had big nights out and weekends away.

It is engrained now I think and I make much better choices than I used to and 100% that if I didn't join I would be 4 stone heavier than I am now

AvaLeStrange · 25/02/2016 15:56

Katie its sounds like you're on a similar weight loss trajectory to me (hopefully).

I'm aiming to lose 8st 11lb overall - am hoping for a stone every 6 weeks (2.3lb a week) for the first 4 stone, and then every 8 weeks for the remainder which takes me to early summer 2017 too.

AvaLeStrange · 25/02/2016 15:57

I actually need to lose more than one of my (very petite) friends actually weighs ConfusedBlush!

KatieT12 · 25/02/2016 16:56

Ava we can do this! I need to lose what my sister weighs AngrySad

Katie I don't mean don't think in terms of weight loss at all, just that thinking 'I need to lose x per week' is necessarily helpful. You can't control exactly how much you lose each week but can focus on a longer term target and how you are progressing towards that.

I saw on the other thread you had a good loss this week but you are disappointment. Don't be! If you lose even half of that amount next week then you have lost almost half a stone in 2 weeks. Think where you could be in 2 months!

BasinHaircut · 25/02/2016 17:59

So many mistakes in that post, hopefully it makes sense!

KatieT12 · 25/02/2016 19:15

Honestly, I'm happy about the loss, it was the fact that I was less the other day! I'm happy with it now and you're right, a stone a month would be lovely!

I just joined slimming world today and I am looking at loosing 6stone. Would anyone be able to recommend any good recipes to start me off.

BasinHaircut · 25/02/2016 20:09

User come on over to the support thread (we are on thread 3), ask there and you'll get loads of ideas.

My fave is pastitsio, I'll look for a link...

ReturnoftheWhack · 25/02/2016 20:10

I only lost 2lbs the first week, have lost 4 stone 3lbs since this time last year.

I think recording your starting height and weight would have pointed out that obvious in this thread, the more you have to lose, the more you'll lose in your first week. I would be very surprised if the pp that lost 10lbs in the first week was at the lower end of the weight spectrum to start. You'll get a dramatic loss like that by making a dramatic change.

My starting weight was 13 stone 8lbs and I'm 5ft 3. I now weigh 9 stone 5lbs.

There's a great slimming world board for recipe ideas, and I use Pinterest and Instagram a lot too. Good luck and well done everybody on your losses! Smile

Whingewhingewine · 25/02/2016 21:13

1.5lb. I have just over a stone to my target weight which I know is the hardest bit to lost but still a little disappointed!

AshleyLora · 02/03/2016 06:25

I had lost around 10 pounds.

Flossyfloof · 02/03/2016 11:06

1lb for me! The girls who I joined with lost 6 and 4 lbs so I am the dunce of our little group.

Gazelda · 02/03/2016 11:13

4.5 lb, 2.5 second week and then 1lb third week. I'm trying to be 100% on plan this week as I know I've got a difficult week coming up (DD's birthday, mothers day, various other parties).
