Thought i would ask here as more ppl are using this board. Its the plan that has apparently replaced Success Express. Im doing their EE which ive lost 3 and a half stone on. I lost 10 stone on Green previously.

I dont like the sound of the new SP plan as it mainly seems to be meat fish eggs and veg.

I already have cut out pasta diet coke noodles mullerlights when i rejoined. The SP plan seems far too restrictive. And ive already been successful on their other plans. Is anyone else on here trying it and what do you think.

I never got on with extra easy. I just stuck to the green lplan and went
To the class for weigh in.

Like the op I lost 10 stone and I've kept it off now with exercise and change in diet. Rarely have take always and eat a good mix of veg and low fat protein every day but don't deny myself treats now and again.

I needed the exercise so as to not have lots of excess skin and now enjoy exercise and it's part of my regular daily routine.

MrsDiesel · 05/01/2015 16:58

I thought it seems quite restrictive too but then I love my carbs!

You can still have yogurt, I have been having the Muller Greek style yogurts and just synning them 1/2 a syn each.

I think I had an sp day yesterday and today so far I have just had a speedy day, no p yet.

To the snippy poster above, I have changed my eating habits and become more active as part of being a slimming world member, I am a target member but have some Christmas indulgence to shift (4lb)

SomeSortOfDeliciousBiscuit · 05/01/2015 18:58

ODFO, Billabong. I had breast cancer young. Losing weight on Slimming World helped save my life because I was able to feel the lump. I gained weight again because of my treatment and have struggled to lose it, again because of the medication I had to take long term.

Slimming World works for me and it's helping me to slowly move towards a healthy weight, which will increase my chances of my cancer never fucking coming back. So I'll say it again, DFO, and the poster who told you to check your privilege got it spot on.

annielostit · 05/01/2015 20:24

Well said somesort, I was taught when I was young, unless I had something nice to say, don't say anything at all.
We're all here for support etc not snippy comments.
Perhaps op is katie Hopkins in disguise.

HelenaDove · 05/01/2015 23:29

Er Annie IM the op and i have said NOTHING derogatory on this thread. I think you are confusing me with someone else.

Helena- I don't think it was you who mentioned going to the gym firstly. It want a directional comment toward you. Apology if I caused offence.

PitchWrapped · 06/01/2015 07:11

All the personal trainers in the world cant help you lose weight if you eat the sort of shit i eat when im not on plan. You need diet and exercise!

HelenaDove · 06/01/2015 13:34

No probs Annie Thanks

Helenadove, you asked on 'Am I being Unreasonable'. I replied on that so please don't try to 'unquote' me on this airy fairy thread where everyone will tell you you are doing marvellously. I stick to what I said, save your money, get to a gym and use a personal trainer. Clearly NONE of you have because you're still trying to loose weight and are spending 'loads' of money ( although claiming you can't afford a gym) on a multi profic making industry

HelenaDove · 07/01/2015 01:13

Billabong i have been NOWHERE near back to my original weight of 21 stone. I am VERY happy with that and how im doing thankyou. SW is 4.95 a week.

I await your post showing me which gym is offering a membership for the same price.....oh and i dont do direct debit btw.

A gym and a personal trainer costs ££££££££££££ So go back to your Boden catalogue.

There is a breast cancer survivor on this thread. Who gained some weight back due to the meds she had to take to SURVIVE.

Your comments are fucking disgusting,

Um, Billabong, even joining a gym (I work out 6-7 times a week, Body Pump, Body Combat, Spinning, Karate and have done all the time I've been overweight - I'm fat and fit) won't shift the weight overnight. People are still on SW because they are still in the process of losing the weight, not because it has failed. Engage your brain please!

AnnieLobeseder · 07/01/2015 09:30

And I'd also like you to show me a gym or personal trainer which isn't also a profit-making business.

MyGastIsTinselled · 07/01/2015 09:48

As I stated previously, most gyms cost £50+ a month, even individual classes cost about £5 per time & one a week isn't going to be very effective.

SW costs £4.95 a week, is free if you're in target. I've lost 2 1/2 stone ish since joining, have put on a bit after Christmas but am still working towards target, as opposed to getting to target & then putting all the weight back on. That's why I'm still going.

Unless you can find me a personal trainer/gym that costs the same & takes up one evening a week then STFU.

annielostit · 07/01/2015 11:58

Well back to the main question, how's SP!! Did do a 95% this week, cutting out potato & pasta and in 6days lost 2.5lb. A nice loss for me.Smile
Going to make soup & pie for lunches again this week and go for 8lb - by June!!!

HelenaDove · 07/01/2015 15:46

I had a gym leaflet come through my door this week for £95 a month I just cant afford it.

annie thats the way i look at it. Im not a fast loser like i was when i was younger and IMO slow and steady wins the race.

I cut out pasta and mullerlights and diet coke and cut my portion sizes when i rejoined 16 months ago. SP isnt doable for me as a lot of fruit gives me colic and a doctor told me to lay off it.

OP posts:
MyGastIsTinselled · 07/01/2015 17:15

I did SP yesterday & did find it quite restrictive (mainly because most of the fruit & veg I like isn't S). I will make sure I get more S foods & try next week.

HelenaDove · 07/01/2015 18:37

The fact that SP has been launched right after Christmas to me smacks of saying "Right youve rewarded yourself and enjoyed yourself over Christmas so now its time to punish yourself. Its perpetuating the reward/punish reward/punish cycle which creates an unhealthy relationship with food.

OP posts:
AnnieLobeseder · 07/01/2015 23:12

What puzzles me about SP - maybe it's just my group not all of SW, but everyone who was quite happy on plain old EE is suddenly now determined to have a go at SP. It's NOT the new main plan, it's an optional extra if you feel you need it. I can see why SW re-launched EE, which is apparently now simpler, at the same time as they expected loads of new members to join. But why push SP? To help get those extra Christmas pounds off faster? I dunno. I've only done one say of SP, and that was to counteract an afternoon of chocolate bingeing. Not as a "punishment" - I made sure the things I was eating on SP were things I really like and I didn't restrict myself at all.

I see what you mean about the cycle of reward and punishment, and I agree that food should never be treated that way. I do wish any kind of slimming programme, (be it SW or personal trainers Hmm) came alongside therapy to help with the mental issues that cause people to have an unhealthy relationship with food in the first place.

annielostit · 08/01/2015 07:06

I think the relaunches always come after Christmas, so to get more members in NY resolutions etc. Some people do have this reward punish thing going, we need to educate that we eat normal healthy food, then a 'treat' is acceptable.sw promotes this. We need to move away from major consumerism and not buy a chocolate mountain because its holiday/Christmas time.
I have enough chocolate to last till march, if I had a bar equivalent each day. Thanks to my mother in law. I only bought a dairy milk.

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 08/01/2015 07:14

I tried SW briefly at the end of last year but gave up too easily as weight loss was quite slow.
Can someone outline what the new changes are?

annielostit · 08/01/2015 10:12

They now promote 1 plan, Extra easy, with a plan called SP to follow when you need a boost.
The fruit and veg choices that were speed foods, some aren't now, bananas blueberries pineapple mango to name a few.
This is the S. P foods are protein, fish meat, peas beans etc.
Fill your plate with these.
The potato, rice and pasta are off on these days. Its along the lines of success express.
On an sp day you get 1a & 2 b choices plus syns.
They ask you to try it for the first week then a day or 2 when you need it.
That's the basics.

MrsDiesel · 08/01/2015 13:34

Billabong I attend SW a couple of times a month for free, because I have lost the weight I wanted to lose and have kept it off. So for me, it does work.

I do work out too but I do that at home, for free too. I don't need a PT.

MickeyMixer · 08/01/2015 13:40

Just joined this morning and I am finding it all a bit confusing - do you have to do SP?
