I'm doing the walk of shame back to class on Wednesday having completely failed to keep the weight off on my own :(

Ooooo FHF I mean Eva helloooooooooo

I was very naughty last week but only gained 0·5lbs, can't say this week has been a whole load better. It would appear that my hormonal binge has lasted 14 days instead of 2!

Giving myself a kick up the behind and sorting myself out, the weights not going to come off by magic now is it ;)

Right THIS IS IT now, I'm determined to just do it.

Have been doing the Shred for 1 month (9 days left as have been having a couple of rest days a week) and whilst I'm fitter and stronger I haven't lost a single lb so need to seriously address my eating.
Have faffed about with mutterings of good intentions since last month but if I'm truly going to be slim by April need to get on it now and not get off til I'm there

If's it's OK I'm going to use this thread as my food diary

BF: Berries (+sweetener) and FF greek yog Tea Coffee
S: Grapes

L: will be smoked salmon salad
D: will be veg lasagne with FF cottage cheese in between layers instead of bechamel and small amount of sauce on top with salad
Yog for dessert

Fruit for snacks

At least 6 glasses of water
My major weakness is evening snacking so my main goal for this 1st week is fruit (or veg) only between meals.

Good luck with keeping your resolve strong Choc

Hi, do you lot mind if I join in? I stopped going to group in October as I couldn't afford it and then birthdays and Xmas came and it's all gone back on Hmm I've been faffing for the last few weeks but put my foot down last night and today I started 100% strict and motivated!

I want to lose just over 1.5 and have a holiday booked for June (soon as I can get it off the better though)

I've even dug out the shred DVD and plan to swap the car for the bike when it's not raining!!

Hi ToeFluff I'm up for strict and motivated Smile

Have managed to stick to plan today, need to have a think about tomorrow before bed and stick to it again tomorrow and all the days after

I def find it easier doing the one day at a time thing, I used to do weekly meal plans but it never worked as I never wanted whatever was planned that day I wanted dominos

I've just made a spicy chicken cous cous dish for lunch, and might have to have it for dinner too as there is far too much, can u freeze cous cous?

I don't work Tuesdays so I have a bike ride planned with my 4 year old, I don't think I shall be keeping up this much enthusiasm but trying to make the most of it whilst it's there!!

D: probably left over veg lasgane and salad
S: Fruit / yog, sugar free mints
Drinks: Tea, coffee, water

ToeFluff Am not sure about freezing couscous, it might go soggy.
It keeps well in the fridge though if that's any help.

Hi, well complete turn around this week after last week's gain. Lost 3·5lbs but I won't be getting the pom poms out just yet as my mind set is crap. Hopefully I can be firm enough with that little devil in me that trys to steer me off the path at regular intervals and stay away from the fat inducing food!

Going to make soup again at the weekend which will help :)

Any other weight losses today?

Hello TDT, lovely to have you back.
Sorry I have abandoned the thread for a while, bad couple of weeks. Finally managed to shift half a pound last night, but not really moving in the right direction overall. My frame of mind is still off.

Felt so bloated last week so have cut out beans and bread completely. Hoping it will make a difference.

Hope you are all well and doing better than me :)

Hello lovely!

I'm good thanks - gained another DD since we last met.

Stayed the same this week and in for a bad week with family staying and DDs baptism.
I'd be interested to know how staying off the bread helps.

Where are the others? Will do a call to arms with a couple I am FB friends with. I left the group though for various reasons.

Hello all!

Mind if I half-join you?! Not sure I've quite reached that place where I'm ready to be strict and motivated just yet, but have noticed that the scales are going in the wrong direction this past few days.

Had quite a tough time following ds2's birth, meaning a week in IntIntensive Care and a week on a ward, whilst baby was at home with Dad. All good now though.

Will you be listing everyone's losses each Weds Choc like before? Thanks for resurrecting the thread!

Watcha slinky

Congrats on DS2. Woohoo! What a horrid time you've had - I would have hit the cakes. I'm impressed you are thinking about dieting. Give the wee one a kiss from me.

I have a bad few days ahead with both girls baptism plus DD1 birthday party. From. tues I will post what I eat. I'm happy to do the weigh in list if choc so desires!

Anyone else want to join us for a natter and weekly weigh ins?

Sounds like you've got a fun, busy and calorie-laden weekend ahead then TDT (not to mention the gin which will no doubt be needed in the evenings?!). Best of luck with the baptism and birthday plans.

Thanks, have indeed planted a kiss on my chubby newborn's head from you! Smile

I'm at that awkward stage where my size 16 maternity clothes swim on me, but my size 14 ones mostly fit...but I really do still look pregnant.

Tried to squeeze into some normal size 16 jeans last night and failed, and only got my size 14 ones up as far as my tree trunk thighs. DHsays he loves me whatever weight I am love him, but I'm sick of wearing the same three outfits!

I'm about 13st now, but would love to get back down to 11st-ish.

How much weight does everyone else want to lose?

You only had a baby 5 weeks ago. It takes time. Maybe hit start being aware of what you are eating IySWIM.

I'm 11st 2. Would like to be 9st 11. I've started going to group to try and motivate myself! It isn't working no haven't been able to stay for meetings but I'm going to start.

Right I'm off to get organised for tomorrow. Got 40 adults and 20kids to cater for!!

I know, it was my second c-section too. Plus have read that it will take months to get my energy levels back after being on life-support/the meningitis. Just getting frustrated as want to run around the park with ds1.

You're right tho, will start off just watching what/how much I eat. Off food shopping later and will do my best to stick to healthy food. Will also pick up a SW mag to get some recipe ideas. Got bought a slow cooker for Christmas which is still to see the light of day.

You sound like you have your work cut out this weekend; hope it all goes well!

Ooooo look, beautiful squishy New borns...I am so jealous!

Welcome back SlinkyB, glad everything is working out now...looks like we are all looking to shift two stone, Slinky though you have only just given birth so don't be too strict on yourself.

I started a plan

  1. Stick to shopping in Aldi, I don't like their chocolate so won't be tempted ;)
  2. Eat more fruit each day.
  3. Stop eating when full.
  4. Write in all down or at least fess up on here when I've been bad.

That will have to do for now :)

There's no such thing as bad chocolate, just some are better than others (bit like ice-cream imo) Wink

Your plan looks good choc, and your food diary today v.good. Will you have any syns?

My goals are:

  1. Reduce portion sizes
  2. Cut down/cut out snacking
  3. Stop buying chocolate, cakes, biscuits, sweets and crisps (managed all of this bar cakes on Sat, as we had visitors coming over...all gone now though). To be fair, the stuff we had in the house was mostly left over from Christmas, or had been bought for me when in hospital.

How did the celebrations go TDT?

Yes, contracted a rare strain of bacterial meningitis 10hrs after surgery. Spent a few days unconscious on a ventilator being tube fed and things were a bit bleak (apparently - I have no memory of that week). Was then on High Dependency Unit for a few more days, before spending a week on a ward. Lost my short term memory so didn't meet ds2 properly til he was ten days old. All good now though thanks to the wonders of modern medicine and fabulous NHS!

Lost two stone in two weeks but wouldn't recommend that method! And it's true what they say; if you lose it quickly, you put it back on quickly.
