My nearly 9 month ds wakes every hour in the night, has been doing since 4 months, I bf to sleep and put him in his cot..

He obviously thinks night time is for feeding and he doesn't hardly eat during the day.

I want to start gentle sleep training and they all say put them down awake, but I feed him and he always falls asleep.

Any advice? When he wakes I have tried many ,methods other than feeding but it can last 5 hours regularly, so i always give in and feed.

DH works nights so only me to do anything.

Help

Cots and Germany - illegaly because all products sold in Germany with mechanical/moving parts have to have equivalent of an MOT (TüV) which certifies it is safe. There was no way they could find a drop mechanism that was safe from little fingers so they will not give them the paperwork to be sold!

Sorry it did not work again Kalo, but have a look at the trheat cahrimummiaow is on about. Its the one I mentioned earlier and has lots of pointers.

Gotta go - screaming child with 45m fiasco.

kalo - crying constantly the maxes were 45 minuites with CC, 20 with CIO. However, after a while he did this thing where he'd cry for 5 minutes out of every 15 for an hour or an hour or a half. We figured he can't have been that upset or he would have been really crying. We generally just checked on him once then left him.

Oh and this was at 6 months - he wasn't standing then.

We did have one day after he learnt to stand where he and DH had a bit of a fight about it. He was fed, not teething and not ill though, so DH just kept laying him back down every few minutes and he eventually (after around 45 minutes I think) gave in. We felt this was a bit of a test of us, and that we had to be firm straight off! Now he can sit down himself, so we don't have a problem. Normally I think he starts standing when he hears one of us moving around to get him.
