Sleeping bags for babys, any good ??

I have seen these sleeping bags for baby being advertised, are they any good ? I have a little one who keeps kicking the covers off. Would one be any good any if so which type is the best?

i had 'grobags' for dd, absolutely fabulous invention for her, as she hated covers on. if you can find the one with car seat strap gaps in get that, as you never know when you need to go out at night etc. personally i got just the 1 tog ones (they do various tog ratings) so dd could wear something underneath, and i didnt have to freak about over heating.

yep agree with the others. We've got a £25 one from debenhams - they say on the front of the pack what clothes the child should wear with that particular sleeping bag (or gro-bag as they are also called) for different togs and room temperatures.

Really unsure about whether to buy one or not. ds does have the tendency to like touching his feet in the middle of night and I feel that he might not like the thought of a grobag/sleep bag. Will have to think a little more about it.

DS loves his grobags (and they often do them cheap at kiddicare )

We have a cold house, so he sleeps in a 2.5 tog grobag, a vest and sleepsuit at the moment - any less and he wakes up cold. He also likes playing with his feet - but get the grobags with patterns on and they 'pick' at the design instead!

We also have a cold house, you put yours in a vest and sleepsuit and grobag. I only put mine in a sleepsuit. He has two sheets and a cover. Perhaps I look at kiddicare for a grobag to try.

On a night as cold as this, definitely vest, sleepsuit and grobag. When it's been milder, he's just had a sleepsuit and grobag or pyjamas and grobag (pyjamas...too cute for words!).

They are bloody marvellous. Can pick up ds and feed him, put him back down and he doesn't experience any sudden temperature changes and settles v quickly. Plus he is warm all night, no kicked covers.

Now I just need to get one big enough for dp so I can keep my share of the quilt!!

Just had a look to see how much they cost. I am really shocked at the price, will have to look around for a cheaper version.

so addicted to ours that can see ds in it for years to come... i have no idea how to put a baby to bed without one

never used one for DS .. who also continually kicked off covers but was always too warm

DD (Now 8 months) has had one for about 4 months and its great .. just zip her up and put her to sleep .. she sleeps under a blanket for daytime naps though

we've got grobags .. 2.5tog in this weather .. but I reckon they're all similar

They're great. I've used £10 ones from Asda.

How much were they? Mothercare do them for about £20-25 which is ok considering you only need one and no top sheet and blanket too?

The one I liked was £25. My ds is growing so quickly in height that it wouldn't last long.

I have used one for my DD from a very early age and they r great. I have used the ones from Asda but now he is using one that my sister gave me and it grows with them as it has poppers on it. I think they were a great invention

Couldn't live without ours - fantastic invention. Really don't know how people using "normal" covers cope with all the wriggling and kicking that goes on!

I gave 2 as presents and both recipients have raved about them. I will be getting one for mine on the way.

I have a grobag. Its great very cosy.

The only disadvantage I have found is that is restricts dd (11 months) movement. So when she wakes up in the morning she can't move around her cot and get her toys etc. This means she cries or yells at top of lungs until we come and release her. Before she used to chatter and play happily until we got up.

Hence have actually stopped using it.

a godsend..more sleep for me and dd happiness all round
