Hello!
Would appreciate some advice - I'm due Feb with my first baby and have confused myself with all the available sleeping options!

We plan to have a bedside cot for the first six months but I wanted to know what the best option was to let baby sleep / lay in during the day downstairs?

I've thought about a Moses basket / dock-a-tot etc (I know the risk of the latter so unlikely to go for this).

What are everyone's opinions? Help much appreciated :)

Oh and my baby doesn’t sleep on me, she sleeps in her cot. Some babies get in the routine of needing someone to sleep on but not all are like that x

You will figure something out, but personally, I would not make things too dark or too quiet during the day. A small baby doesn't need a "routine", per se, but getting them to figure out the difference between night and day is important in helping them to develop a somewhat reasonable sleeping pattern.

Always just taken the carrycot off the pram and used that for both of mine

We had a Moses basket in one room and the Purflo version of a dockatot in another, which is rated safe for sleep.
Really, you're never far from them anyway!

I had a Moses basket and the pram bassinet on the couch

However baby slept on me so neither were used 😔
