Any one else dreading the clocks going back?

Remember how we used to love it, an extra hour in bed? Try telling a 1 and 3 year old that actually it's not time to get up yet...

Had all these plans to let them stay up really late tonight to try and offset it but typically was desparate for them to go to bed at usual times!

And DH cleverly picked tomorrow for his lie in...

when is it/? is it tonight?

beautifuldays · 27/10/2007 19:31

i know i know i still have my 9month old and 3.5 yr old sat here playing cars, am going ot keep them awake as long as humanly possible (easier with the 3yr old than the 9 month old!) plus ds can tell the time so i can just tell him he is not allowed to wake me up til 7

UnionJack · 27/10/2007 19:31

I dread them for the following reasons:

My boys will wake up at 5.30.

And without fail my Mum always says, regardless of whether the clocks have gone forward or back; "I'm so tired. That hour has really taken it out of me"

CarGirl · 27/10/2007 19:32

fab for us, they've been sleeping in later than usual this week so it will help us get up at 7 on Monday when it's back to school.

Theclosetpagansbesom · 27/10/2007 19:32

Oh feck - is it tonight then?

TheGoddessBlossom · 27/10/2007 19:33

cor can he beautiful that's pretty cool! Think DS1 would wake me up regardless....

BitTiredNow · 27/10/2007 19:34

God yes - another hour of refereeing pointless fights betwen my 4yo and 2yo.... deep joy, can't wait

oooh check me out with the sarcasm......

beautifuldays · 27/10/2007 19:35

he is very interested in clocks and time comes in useful tho!

9 month old is struggling now.....

StrawberryMartini · 27/10/2007 19:35

It will be 4.30am for me.

Mercy · 27/10/2007 19:35

Don't worry, they'll soon get used to it.(give or take a couple of years!)

Tiredemma - guess it must be tonight, I had no idea until now. ANd is it definitely back?

choufleur · 27/10/2007 19:37

just managed to keep ds up 1/2 hour longer than usual - don't suppose that will mean he will sleep 1/2 hours longer in the morning though.

don't know why we bother doing it really - we still get the same number of hours daylight. it's either dark when you leave the house in the morning or dark when you come home.

TheGoddessBlossom · 27/10/2007 19:37

defintely back.

I expect I will be up, downstairs, refereeing by 5.30am new time.

Oh me lord give me strength, dd will be up at 5am along with her usual 2-3 times in the night...

bubblerock · 27/10/2007 19:40

Nope - it's great, my two are at Haven with Grandma, so she gets them for an extra hour, whilst me and dh get to stay in bed together in an empty house

choufleur · 27/10/2007 19:43

i'm not jealous at all bubblerock

bubblerock · 27/10/2007 19:44

lol - It really doesn't happen often I have also stupidly suggested I do a roast for when they get home, why did I open my big mouth!

choufleur · 27/10/2007 19:46

but at least you won't have been up since 5.30. i'd rather do the roast.

peggotty · 27/10/2007 19:46

Blooody hell MotherFunk, that's hard going for you!!!!

I tried to keep my 2.8yr old dd up but she fell asleep during x-factor (so did I, nearly!) I will have to be fiddling about with the bunny-clock she's got that usually works a treat...

TheGoddessBlossom · 27/10/2007 19:47

Bubblerock I'll be round in half an hour. Beef is my preference if you're asking.

Totally dreading it. DD's normal waking hour will now be 4.45am . Tried putting her to bed ten mins later each night this week. All it has meant is less adult time and a grumpy baby, going to bed later does not seem to equate with getting up later.

Denny185 · 27/10/2007 19:57

Great for us should make it easier getting to school for 9 on Monday

satine · 27/10/2007 20:02

Hmm, I clicked on this thread all ready to say "No! I love cosy dark evenings and frosty mornings, and the start of the Christmas excitement - I have SAD in reverse!" and then I realised that you're all right, and my kids will be up at 6 tomorrow, instead of 7! Bugger!

BitTiredNow · 27/10/2007 20:03

can I come too Bubble rock?
