Pls help a really exhausted mommy.
Little boy is now 3 months. Wont drink more than 4/5oz. Has a feed at 7pm goes down by 8pm has his dreamfeed about 10pm and will wake up about 2/3am for a feed. Then he wakes at 5.30am! He wont drink any milk and wont sleep. If he ever does its such a light sleep when i put him back in cot he just wakes up and kicks his arms n legs about like hes tired.
How do I get him to sleep better past his 2/3am feed until 7am feed? I dont want to feed him earlier as it throws out his whole days routine and worse still his bedtime.
Any advice welcome - a very very overtired mum who just cries all the time now due to exhaustion.

Me too... Mine wakes every 20-40 mins. I think I'd feel so sparkly and new on five hours sleep, it's like a distant dream...

Op, your baby sleeps well. Really well. You need to adjust how you're looking at this from 'make baby sleep more' to 'maximise my time in bed.'

Let me show you my night yesterday :

6:30 baby in bed
7:00 ish baby asleep
7:15 wake
7:40 wake
8:00 ish wake
8:20 ish wake
9 ish wake
10:15 wake
10:30 I go to bed. Baby wakes, mucks around a bit
I pass out, woken 4-5 times by baby wriggling, singing, rummaging around in my nostrils until about 2:55 am, by which time it's broad daylight here.
Baby requests getting up
Mummy pretends to be asleep
Baby eventually falls back to sleep about 3am, I pass out, wake up about 4.
Baby requests to get up
Mummy pretends to be asleep
Baby digs his father out from under the duvet
Father takes baby downstairs 5:30-7 as this is the only uninterrupted sleep I get.

It's been like that for months. I would cry with joy of mine slept like yours.

I feel your you Zaurak, DD2 woke every 40 mins for 4 months and I was an absolute zombie. I'm thankful she now only wakes 3ish times a night, despite the 5.30am start!

Hi Op- my 4 year old spent the first 2 1/2 years of her life waking every 45 mins! It nearly broke me. I read everything I could find/ tried every routine, beat myself up about doing something wrong. Eventually she just got older and started to sleep better- she lay in until 8am last Saturday! Don't listen to all the so called friends and family- all babies are different. You are doing everything you can to create a sleep environment and your baby is sleeping! Only thing you can do now is try to get as much sleep as you can yourself. Parenthood is a marathon, not a sprint and there is no point comparing your little superstar to others. Now- off to bed Grin X
