9 months old - not one full night.

He had a big dinner.

He is warm.

He has had calpol and teething granules.

He's just had another feed and crawled round a bit wearing himself out.

He has his thumb.

He will be swaddled to feel loved and secure.

He might be given a teddy wearing my t-shirt so he has mummamummamummamumma.

He will sleep until daylight.

All it takes is positive thinking...

Right - off to put him down and sleep ALL NIGHT

Good luck flame! I shall be thinking positive thoughts in my sleep

Flamesparrow · 21/11/2006 23:27

Your unbroken sleep no doubt

Well, he's up there, and didn't even squeak. Decided against the mumma t-shirt thinking he might smell milk and get stroppy with the lack of nipple...

Really am logging off now...

Gah! Positive thinking my arse.

Up all bloody night

Your DS and mine have obviously been communicating in a manner akin to the starlight barking in 101 Dalmations to concoct a fiendish plan... maybe they're in the pay of the cosmetic companies who make all those radiance/anti-ageing/hide your dark circles products!!

Flamesparrow · 22/11/2006 07:43

Ooooh more than likely!!! They're gonng be sorely out of luck with me

Sadly I am that gullible person who thinks paying £30 for some wonder-cream will actually make me look less like death warmed up. Maybe the £30 would be better spent on an enormous supply of Medised....

Flamesparrow · 22/11/2006 07:53

Considering the pouring a bottle of mediced down his neck tonight, so I can let you know

In a new low in the Scootergirl household have given DS half a dose of Medised to get him to have his nap (he was up at 5am and is KNACKERED but wouldn't sleep). If only I could Medised DD (3) too and go for a kip myself

Flamesparrow · 22/11/2006 09:20

I have been known to do that too... and conce tried it with the 3 yr old, but it sends her hyper

And still DS sleeps on... am now worried he'll sleep too much during the day and party all night. DD now parked in front of Balamory so house is peaceful (ish). Do you ever do that thing you're really not meant to where you rock them to sleep, place them delicately in the cot and tip-toe out holding your breath just to get an hour's kip?

Flamesparrow · 22/11/2006 09:43

God yes! And sometimes I do the feeding them to sleep in bed and then just sleeping with them... harder to do with the 3 yr old about.

Yesterday I did tiptoe, then cbeebies whilst I curled up on the sofa.

"I gungry mummy"
"There's a yoghurt in the fridge darlin, you can reach the spoons "

Tee hee. Have taught DS to drag a stool across the kitchen so she can reach the snack jar on the side. Next step will be to start leaving the biscuit jar on the floor...
Should I go and wake DS up or leave him sleeping and DD in front of CBeebies still in pjs? Goodness, feel like terrible trailer-park slut-mum, drugging kids for peace and using TV as a babysitter...

Scootergirl · 22/11/2006 09:56

Forgot to mention, we're in Germany so an hour ahead - still in pjs at 11am on weekday!

Flamesparrow · 22/11/2006 10:04

Give him til quarter past, then wake him

I'm only dressed because DD has preschool in the mornings!!!

Scootergirl · 22/11/2006 10:14

Wish me luck... I'm going in! If only DD was at nursery this morning then I could have gone back to sleep during DS's monster nap. Oh, til January when she starts pre-school five mornings a week and DH is back from his stint on the frontline of the global war on terror in Afghanistan (his words, not mine!)

Flamesparrow · 22/11/2006 10:26

I feel bad for whinging now... I do at least have DH I can throw them at in the evening.

I should be sleeping now, but am enjoying the quiet!!!

OP posts:
Scootergirl · 22/11/2006 10:38

Don't be sad - it's not all bad having DH away - no having to make coversation about work and football after the kids are in bed! I know I should go to bed as soon as they do in an evening but that couple of hours of peace (and couple of glasses of wine!) is just too precious!

Flamesparrow · 22/11/2006 15:28

Actually I do have times where DH being away sounds like a very good thing

Glass of wine is sounding very tempting too... wonder if I can justify buying a bottle later?

OP posts:
Scootergirl · 22/11/2006 16:09

Get yourself one - after all, you're worth it (surely there's an ad campaign in there somewhere). Don't you feel your heart start to sink as the whole teatime/bedtime/bathtime thing looms?

Flamesparrow · 22/11/2006 16:14

We're less than penniless right now, so its going to take a lot to convince myself that wine is allowed. Washing machine died yesterday too... yup, I do have a witching hour sinking feeling though

OP posts:
Scootergirl · 22/11/2006 16:24

It's a shame I can't send you virtual wine over MN - god knows you deserve it. Have you seen the thread on how bad Medised is for under 2s? Bad mommies for even considering it...{blush]

Flamesparrow · 22/11/2006 16:26

I was wondering if it was a troll thread as a result of us

OP posts:
Scootergirl · 22/11/2006 16:41

As a new MNer, is a troll thread one where people take the piss out of you? If it is, they can go and enjoy their uninterrupted ten hours sleep and I hope it chokes them! Can you tell I'm having a stressful teatime?

Flamesparrow · 22/11/2006 16:45

Awww - I think occasional drugging is ok, tis just every night that it is a bit of a worry

A troll is someone who posts something contraversial (normally offensive) just to push everyone's buttons.

OP posts:
Scootergirl · 22/11/2006 16:47

Maybe I'll try the chamomile first tonight just to try to avoid three days in a row of Medised! Shall I start my positive thinking now for you to get plenty in before bedtime?
