Right.... the power of positive thinking if you please!

9 months old - not one full night.

He had a big dinner.

He is warm.

He has had calpol and teething granules.

He's just had another feed and crawled round a bit wearing himself out.

He has his thumb.

He will be swaddled to feel loved and secure.

He might be given a teddy wearing my t-shirt so he has mummamummamummamumma.

He will sleep until daylight.

All it takes is positive thinking...

Right - off to put him down and sleep ALL NIGHT

I'm on a drugging night... he is in pain too though with teeth .

I'm sure my chamomile resolution will last all of, ooohh three minutes or so after he starts yelling. I'm so strong-willed {blush} Am still trying to think positive though... for your sake and mine!

Flamesparrow · 23/11/2006 07:55

Ok, so positive vibes seem to be making him worse

Negativity tonight to try and outthink him into proving me wrong?? How was your night?

Well, it was a two doses of Medised night (at the prescribed intervals natch although I was bloody tempted...) I agree, the positive thinking just seems to be making it worse. I might try threatening mine...
I suppose one of the benefits of no wine in your house is that it makes getting up easier (my positive thinking has got to go somewhere!)

FrivolentDemon · 23/11/2006 12:36

Nah, cos if you drink enough then you can wake up drunk
(name changed....)

Scootergirl · 23/11/2006 12:47

When DH comes back from Afghanistan in 20 days (not that I'm counting) am planning on being drunk for a week then sleepinf for another week. I'll miss Christmas but what the hell...

FrivolentDemon · 23/11/2006 19:35

Well I have decided that he will wake at LEAST 3 times tonight

(He fell asleep mid feed after calpol for the hurty teeth...)

Being drunk and sleeping through christmas sounds like heaven to me!

Scootergirl · 23/11/2006 19:49

Have come up with a cunning plan based on times of night-wakings...
9pm - Dummy lost. Reinsert dummy. Tiptoe out
11pm - Decide 7pm Calpol has worn off and poor child is in pain. Ponder Medised. Decide on Nurofen then can use Medised laster if needed.
1am - Teething granules. Bugger all use and make him cough but might teach him not to disturb me in night
3am - Might be hungry. Breastfeed if feeling postive about effect of shit day on milk supply. Stagger downstairs for bottle if not. Consider Medised. Give in to urge and adminster Medised.
5am - Wonder why DS is awake two hours after Medised. Try to cuddle yelling child back to sleep so doesn't wake DD. Ponder day ahead.
6.30am - Give in. Get up. Drink strong coffee and watch cartoons (oh the joy)

FrivolentDemon · 23/11/2006 20:17

Meet you on MN during those intervals then

Scootergirl · 23/11/2006 20:30

Ah, but what if yours uses the "even number" system of waking ie 10pm, midnight, 2am etc, as opposed to my DS's "odd number" system. Then I'll be sat here all alone...

FrivolentDemon · 23/11/2006 20:48

He'll probably do odds and evens...

Scootergirl · 24/11/2006 06:30

Well mine stuck to his "odds" system with the added excitement of his sister waking on "evens" with earache! They are SO going to be posted to Afghanistan at this rate...

FrivolentDemon · 24/11/2006 07:39

Do you think postage would be cheaper if we combined mine and yours?

He did 11pm... then 2am... then on and off every hour (in our bed because I couldn't get my head around carrying him back).

Tonight I may be on strike...

Scootergirl · 24/11/2006 07:46

Yay - sleep-deprived mums on strike! Let's start a revolution.
I would but I'm too bloody tired...
Thinking about taking them both to the doc's today to see if there is some miracle German cure for grumpy, teething, snotty, earachy kids - I'll Fed-Ex you some if there is!

FrivolentDemon · 24/11/2006 07:50

Ah, but you forget about the magical "doctors surgery effect" - where they go in, and are really happy and bouncy and make you look like a liar

Scootergirl · 24/11/2006 07:55

I;ll stick pins in them if I have to ...
And 20 Marlborough should help to replicate that hacking night-time cough (that's a joke in case any social worker-types are lurking!)
