11 month old baby waking ridiculously early

Help! My son used to start shuffling around in his cot around 5ish and I'd always be able to pick him up and resettle him. Now there is no shuffling, just straight from lying down to sitting up so he's awake at 5am! How can I get him back to sleeping to 7am?!

Glad you've got your dh to save your sanity

Twinklestar2 · 29/06/2015 17:26

He slept for an hour between half 1 and half 2.

Do these timings sound ok?

I think 2 x 90 minute naps sounds about right. If you're aiming for 7-7 I'd go for nap times of 10-11.30 and 2.30-4 so an awake time of 3 hours.

Twinklestar2 · 29/06/2015 19:29

Thanks will work on that. This mornings nap was only 30 mins because I accidentally woke him up! 9-9.30.

Then the afternoon nap was 1.30-2.30.

Will keep at it again tomorrow and keep you posted!

Google "wake to sleep". Our Ds still wakes at 5:30 at 19 months but when he happens to wake at 4-4:30 he'll sleep through to 7. We're going to try wake to sleep

Twinklestar2 · 30/06/2015 07:49

I've tried that. He went off 3 times but woke up. I gave up after half an hour.

What time do we do his naps today?! He's already rubbing his eyes and getting clumsy Sad.

10am and 2.30 for the naps, you can do this!!

Twinklestar2 · 30/06/2015 12:45

First nap was 9-10.10! OH said he was asleep within 2 mins... He was so tired! Just been to play group and now having lunch. Then will try for afternoon nap!

OP posts:
Twinklestar2 · 30/06/2015 14:44

He's not showing any signs of tiredness and two attempts to put him down have not worked Sad

Twinklestar2 · 30/06/2015 16:02

Just had 50 minute nap between 3-3.50

OP posts:
nottheOP · 30/06/2015 18:16

That should be good timing for a 7 pm bed.

Our second nap was often in the pram

Twinklestar2 · 30/06/2015 19:00

He really fought it!

He doesn't sleep in the pram anymore which is a nightmare! Will just lie there sucking the dummy!

Oh and he's asleep now

I'll keep my fingers crossed you don't see 5 am tomorrow

Twinklestar2 · 30/06/2015 20:52

Thank you! And thanks for listening and your help, it really helps.

I'm going to keep an eye on this thread after a 5:30 wake up today. My 10 month olds nap times are all over the place with dashing about after the older ones activities but perhaps I could aim for a bit later.

Twinklestar2 · 30/06/2015 22:49

Welcome munchkin. Tomorrow will be day 3 of trying to implement be routine so hopefully it will be getting easier!

5am again! Don't know whether to laugh or cry?!

4:47! To be fair was very hot and light (despite blackouts). Too early for me and early enough to warrant posting dh through who got baby off again till 7:30!

I want to take her to baby group so would normally put down 9:30 so up at 10:15 but may try to keep her up to 11 so nap after class?

Twinklestar2 · 01/07/2015 08:26

Oh you're lucky she went down again till 7.30! I'm on sofa trying not to fall asleep Brew

Urgh! Come on baby twinkle, give mamma some rest.

Good use of the reinforcements munch

It does get easier guys, DS is 3 and for quite a while, if he wakes up too early we just take him back to his room and tell his as much. He usually stays there for another 30 minutes ++

Twinklestar2 · 01/07/2015 11:37

Slept 9-11.30. That's loads I know but I'm not sure the heat helps.
