I'm struggling to get my DS down before 9!? he has dinner about 5/5.30 bottle about 6/6.30 dozes on bottle then wakes when it's finished. has lots of wind eventually giving in about 9. This seems late to me.
he's not a good sleeper, wakes every 30 mins to an hour.....

thanks artandco, most nights I let him stay down with me as I prefer him to get the sleep he needs rather than faffing about in his room getting stressed. I'm just getting nothing done in the house, I have an older DD who is 4 and a DH who works long hours. will have a think about changing his bottle routine thank you

Have you tried infacol for his wind? Dd had bad wind when she was smaller and gripe water didn't do anything for us.

She's 7 months now and bedtime is anywhere between 9 and 10. Up until last week she would sleep through until 7/8 but has started waking once or twice in the night since we moved her to her own room. Anyway, my only "rule" is that she has no naps after her penultimate feed (around 6). I tend to let her nap when she wants during the day, putting her upstairs if I can see her getting tired or letting her sleep if we're out with the pram or car, but I try and encourage a nap after her 3pm feed, so she's not got too long to wait until bedtime. I found that she wanted to go down for a nap around 6/7 but would then wake around 10 and be up until gone midnight, so by getting that nap earlier we made bedtime earlier too.

She usually falls asleep on her last bottle too, she has 8oz but sometimes is asleep after 3 or 4oz so I'll stop and gently wind her as soon as she starts dropping, so it just wakes her slightly ready to finish off.

I'm assuming baby isn't moving much yet either. Usually you I find that once they can crawl themselves they can shift wind built up better. So I hope you only have a few more weeks like this.

Another thought, will he fall asleep in a sling? That's really helpful for late afternoon naps with older child as then you can carry on helping eldest do stuff easier

thanks annatha, I hope your lo goes back to sleeping through for u.

art, no he's not crawling, hopefully when he starts moving that will help, like u say.
I do have a sling which I've used to help with nap time maybe I'll start using it a bit more.
he's asleep now but whether that will last I'm not sure, fingers crossed Grin

sorry annatha, meant to say I tried infacol when he was much younger but didn't find it helped. may be better now so will try it again.
