Sleepwear for a kicker!

ThePaperBagPrincess · 07/05/2015 16:11

My 4 month old ds is a kicker! He's long so is getting too big for the 0-6 month Grobag but is swamped in the bigger ones.

Blankets get kicked off and he gets agitated if tucked in too tight.

The room temperature varies between 18 and 21 degrees.

Any suggestions on what I could get for him to sleep in and be comfy would be great!

Could you try a fleecy sleepsuit over a vest or pj's depending on the temp? I don't mean a big thick one, a thin one should do the trick just fine Smile something like http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Stripy-Fleece-Walk-In-Sleeper/LC5875,default,pd.html#q=fleece this

Try different bag brands. Grobag are massive, tesco are smaller and weight as well as age based.

Ooh the light fleecy sleepsuits could work!

I accidentally bought ds a too big gro bag, I just sewed the arm and neck holes smaller by pinching eg under the armpit and sewing together. So long as ds can't slip down inside the bag he's safe, so you could measure the arm and neck holes against you smaller ones, but have the added length of a bigger one. And of course when he gets bigger just unpick the stitches!

weaselwithin · 09/05/2015 00:57

could you cut the bottom of his current grobags and put extra socks on him?

ThePaperBagPrincess · 10/05/2015 08:34

Am tempted by the vertbaudet thing Smile But will try the clever idea of altering his current Grobags first - great idea! I'm such a lateral thinker sometimes so always good when someone points out an alternative route! Thanks Smile

Bambino merino sleeping bag. Goes from newborn- two years old, and the merino adapts to temperature so no need to get summer and winter ones

ThePaperBagPrincess · 10/05/2015 16:29

They look really good Artandco - I was a bit Shock at the prices but then when you don't have to buy different tog ratings and they last until 2, they aren't too expensive.

Those bambino merino ones are really lovely. Would recommend, I was shocked by the price but desperate?? plus you'll be able to sell when you're done with them.

Artandco · 10/05/2015 17:08

They really are good prices, we bought x2 and they lasted x2 children, and resold for £50 for them both. I think they were about £45 each when we bought 6 years ago so we got a good amount back.

You do get the odd one on eBay that sells cheaper.
