Tried CC now trying part co-sleeping - any other co-sleepers out there?

Well as you know the CC didn't really work for us. but just after I posted my last topic we tried another bedtime routine which involves: Bathing at 6.30, then cream, nappy and pj's then on her doughnut in her room with a soft nightlight on and cuddle with teddy while I tell her a bedtime story or 2 and she has her bottle. Then off to bed and for about a week now she's been lights out by 7.15pm without a single moan or crying session - bliss!! (touch wood).

Then when she wakes in the middle of the night we take her into the big bed until morning. So far we're not doing to badly although she's starting with another cold so things could be a bit up and down for a few days.

At least we are all getting waaaaay more sleep than before - so who's complaining, not me!!

We use a combination of co sleeping and dd in her moses basket. Soon she will be moving out of the basket. We are going to try a futon next to our bed - which will be like an extension of our bed and sort of like a side cot.
I do need quite abit of personal space and think she sleeps better if the duvet is not always moving around her.

Maybe you can get used to co sleeping - but I found that I started wanting abit more space so like Bloss I was not a complete Zombie by morning. I often suffer from various aches and pains - and do like to shuffle around without feeling like I might wake the baby. If she is in bed I feel like I have to lie there like a mummy (no pun intended ).
Still we do sleep with her some part of the night and I do like that and have gotten better at doing short co sleeps.

She is waking up abit more at the moment - maybe it is the teeth (she is almost 5 months). In the day I have to spend quite abit of time coaxing a good sleep out of her - for the middle of the day nap. If I stay close by (in the room) I can calm her down and get her to stay asleep. Persistence, endurance and loads of patience required.

Well she just woke up. Dh had been with her to get to sleep -- my endurance was wearing thin
He was looking all sleepy when he brought her out. Slept on the wooden floor! amazing. I am more tired than him and I could not do that. He is a machine
