I only ask cos Joey's in his nappy (and has been all day) it's over 27oC in his room, fan's on full all the windows in the hosue/back door are wide open but it's still baking in there.

normally i'd swaddle in a thin sheet but it's seems to hot for even that tonight and def tomorrow night - any advice on what you guys use/would do, I only swaddle to kept him from keepin himself awake all night flapping around.

normal bed time's 8 o'clock, he's no intention of going yet, and can't see it b4 9.30-10 tbh.

My 2.3 yar old is in his nappy and shorts PJs. His room is boling but he somehow still manages to sleep thank God

curtaintwitcher · 18/07/2006 20:40

hannah is in a 0.5tog grobag only because when I have tried to put her to bed with nothing she gets her legsa caught in the bars ending in lots of screaming...fan is on full and windows open so her room is surprisingly cool..so she went to bed ok.

Adam is currently watering the garden as his room is soo hot cant stand being in there and he is in shorts with no top etc.

LilacWine · 18/07/2006 20:43

DS (6 wks) is just in his nappy now. when he goes in his room, i will wrap a very thin sheet around his waist & legs as he tends to do this 'free fall' thing where he wakes up in shock with his arms stretched out as if he feels he's falling. i think it's because he's used to being swaddled or in a grobag.

MrsJohnCusack · 18/07/2006 20:44

a nappy (she's 19 months)
she doesn't seem to care about the heat at all and has been sleeping really well, unlike us!

hmm just the waist and legs, that's an idea - might try just to keep his arm's down but keep the top half open so to speak.

Dd's are in shortie jammies. I told they could wear nowt if they wanted to but neither would.

Ds (3.7) is in his jammie short bottoms and lying asleep on top of his quilt.

I wouldn't have a clue what to do with a young baby in this weather, mine were all winter babies.

Posey · 18/07/2006 20:48

Ds who's 3.5 is in shortie pjs and lying on top of bed, no covers. Hot in there but he was dead tired so went off no probs.
Dd who's 9 is wearing pants only and is struggling to sleep despite being worn out.

BonyM · 18/07/2006 20:50

DD1 (8) in strappy vest and knickers (her choice), window firmly closed because she's worried about flies getting in , but fan going full blast. I will open her window when she's asleep.

DD2 (16mths) in nappy and 0.5 tog growbag, window open but no fan because she's scared of it - it's currently 27 in her room and I am worried she will be too hot. Tried sneaking fan in last night when she was asleep but woke her up so daren't do it again tonight. She's such a light sleeper.

TwinsetandPearls · 18/07/2006 20:50

WE are all sleeping startkers in the same bed under a massive fan

munz · 18/07/2006 20:51

does anyone know if the bottle of iced water in front of the fan actually works? i'm thinking of trying that tomorrow depending on tonight. he's 5 months so u'd think i'd be bit better by now! I don't think u know what to do for the best thou.

their nappies.

PiccadillyCircus · 18/07/2006 20:55

DS (2.7) is in nappy and short pyjamas.

DD (9 months) is in nappy and pyjama top. No gro bag as when she is in a 0.5 tog one she gets all twisted up in it.

Mercy · 18/07/2006 21:06

ds - nappy

dd- knickers

Munz if you have a loft/attic, open the door - that can help. Sorry but I did think it was very cute when you described your ds 'flapping around'!

if they wake up, a quick wipe down with a cool sponge can help - especially around the face/neck and back.

hulababy · 18/07/2006 21:14

DD (4y3m) is in bed in short PJs, with a thin fleece throw over her rather than her duvet. That is what she chose.

FrannyandZooey · 18/07/2006 21:16

t-shirt, grobag (it's a summer one and if he doesn't have it on he just wriggles around far too much)

and a nice big fan turned right on him

expatinscotland · 18/07/2006 21:17

dd1 - tshirt and grobag. she is 3

dd2 - tshirt and grobag. she is 7 months

poisson · 18/07/2006 21:18

beds

Piffle · 18/07/2006 21:18

d 3 has bene running around in the buff all day in and out of the paddling pool
She is asleep with fan on, with knickers and a spgahetti strap vest
ds who is 12, sleeps naked... with curtains open a fan on and windows open

gladbag · 18/07/2006 21:19

1 tog grobag and thin t-shirt (plus fan)

schneebly · 18/07/2006 21:20

DS1 (almost 3) - t-shirt and pants
DS2 (18 months)- t-shirt and nappy

They have a thin quilt each but both sleeping on top of them with all 3 windows open.

alexsmum · 18/07/2006 21:20

beds.
is that not usual?

TooTicky · 18/07/2006 21:26

Dd1: possibly a nighty.
Dd2: nappy plus swimming nappy (swimming nappy stops her undoing nappy wrap so she can go vestless).
Ds1 and ds2: nowt. They spend nearly all their time naked in this weather. Completely uninhibited

Beauregard · 18/07/2006 21:27

dd1-naked
dd2-nappy

poptot · 18/07/2006 21:28

dd nudie
ds shortie PJs and I have just taken off his Postamn Pat wellies that he insists on going to sleep in
